Reds have 4 guys in the top 90 of pitches per plate appearance. Votto, Bruce, Gomes, and Phillips in that order.

Janish is due. Please, baseball gods, shine on 0 for 21

Please, don't cloud this with facts.

Basically pitched around Hanigan to load the bases to pitch to Janish. Let's see what happens here.

Your prayers were answered, at least this time.

It's back in the 2 hole for Paully.

Well, I don't have the #'s but would be willing to bet that both Stubbs and Bruce have become more disciplined and take more pitches. It's funny, we don't complain when we have a couple of guys in the lineup that were hot and we wouldn't be discussing this at all.

Some people maybe not, I've said it consistently for the past 2 years. The only guy that should have a pass is Votto, who has proven he's about as good as it gets on 1st pitches.

High Socks = Base Knocks.

He has one. Let's not get carried away.

Hmmm...I had not noticed Votto being a first pitch guy. Need to watch more games I guess. The thing I have noticed about Votto is he is one of the best at hitting with two strikes. I can't think of anyone else better at hitting from behind in the count. Great eye and great at fouling off the borderline pitches to get to a pitch he can handle.

I was looking at some stats the other day for Votto based on the count, etc. He's pretty much solid at any and all counts. I'll try to find them.

I also never said Votto was one that did swing at the 1st pitch a ton, just that he rakes when he does.

Heck of an inning there for Homer.

Votto:

First Pitch: (113-275) .411 avg.

Two Strikes: (197-890) .221 avg.

I was just thinking about Thompson the other day he showed promise before getting hurt...And he is still very young...
