LeBron hit multiple clutch shots including a game tying 30 foot shot against Orlando in the ECF's in 2009.

 

Is everyone forgetting the game against Detroit (in 2007 I believe) when he went nuts in the 4th quarter in the ECF's and scored or assisted every Cleveland point that quarter?

 

With the exception of Kobe who has been more clutch or a better closer for the last 7 years? And after this year Kobe can hardly be called as clutch or a big threat as a closer anymore. LBJ has missed his share of game winners but no one else has likely taken as many neither. Nobody makes them all but for folks to act like LBJ doesn't come up big in the 4th time and time again because his game winning shot percentage is putrid is getting to be laughable. He has closed before and he'll close again. It took MJ 7 years to learn how to close consistently. I don't see why LBJ should be held to a higher standard.

True. The A-Rod comparison is a good one. I always thought Jeter was overrated and I remember comparing Yankee playoff stats and theirs were identical yet A-Rod took the blame. If the Heat lose it will be LBJ's fault and that comes with the territory. I just think he has been better in the 4th and closing than he gets credit for. It seems like he could go 7-8 from the floor in the 4th but if the 1 shot he missed is the game winner then he is the goat. I don't think that is a fair assessment for whether or not he closed.

I was just wondering because I really was not sure if the media or him gave him that nickname. I know I am someone who had said many times on here how I didn't like Lebron, and hated how he said he was taken his talents to South Beach. So I definitely see where you are coming from with that.

The "Chosen 1" was a media driven name. I believe SI gave it to him. But he fully embraced it as well as the King, the number 23, etc. That is for another debate though.

 

It is amazing how easily Rose can get to the rim. That problem is not going away for Miami. But Chicago has to find a way to capitalize from here forward if they have any chance.

So Lebron "closed" it out because he had 4 points in the last 2-3 minutes of the game? He had a good game don't get me wrong. The bulls scored 2 points in the last SEVEN minutes of the game. I think they closed themselves out. :lol:

 

If by four points you mean almost every point in the last four minutes of the game for either team then yes. He put the game out of reach and there is no denying that as far as I'm concerned. Had Kobe hit those shots last night everyone would be saying he was a cold blooded killer.

To this point in his career James is the A-Rod of the NBA. Physically superior to everyone but has a stigma of not being a closer because of what he brings to the table physically and has not always being able to get it done (whether it has been his fault or not). A-Rod had that same stigma until he started making big hits a couple of post-seasons ago. But if you looked at the numbers they were always comparable to Jeter in "clutch" situations for whatever that was worth. Same goes for James.

 

What I do not think you have ever grasped is that a lot of the criticism comes because we all know he can be more dominating that what he is. There are legit points to that effect. I want him to develop that "it" factor that many have questioned because I love greatness. I see it in him.

You don't want to talk regular season because over his career LeBron has been clutch more often than not in the regular season. One off year trying to adjust to new teammates but he led the Cavs to 60+ wins the last two years without making a single play down the stretch in either season :lol:.

You can't tell haters anything. They're seeing what they want to see. Big shots against Washington early in his playoff career, the series against the Pistons he won by himself, taking the Celtics to 7 games by himself and having 46 in the game 7, possibly the all-time greatest individual performance in a series for a losing player against Orlando, this year against Boston, last night.
