No Rose.....no Bulls. 1 can't beat 2. This series has officially started. Looks like 7-11 has some good medicine.

Now the series has officially started. Once again Lebron shuts it down and closes out a game.

 

When he plays like that the Heat shouldn't lose. He is a lot of fun to watch when he is playing like that.

Man that LeBron James character never gets it done at the end of games.

At least so far LBJ has embraced the end of game killer role in the playoffs. The myth that he didn't have him in it was just that....a myth. One bad series.

On a side note this is how playoff basketball is suppose to be. Great defense, rough play, and rebounds playing a key role in the game. Both teams have exploited the other teams biggest weaknesses. Chicago has taken advantage of Miami's lack of size and depth, and Miami has taken advantage of Chicago's inconsistent role players offensively. Their is no easy fix for either team I don't think. I don't know if I would rather be the Heat and depend on LeBron and DWade to get 10 boards a piece every game or Chicago hoping guys like Deng and Boozer can contribute on the offensive end when Rose isn't playing well.

 

I do think going to Miami 1-1 is scary for Chicago. Role players usually play alot better at home, and I don't know if they'll have the same amount of energy playing on the road because their home crowd has been huge for them. I think Game 3 is their better shot to take one in Miami, if they are only going to get one. Down 2-1 on the road and I don't like their role players chances of bouncing back in a must win game. I think Chicago has to continue to play Gibson more than Boozer. TG has been their second best player in this serires IMO.

On Mike and Mike this morning someone sent in an email saying Boozer should be arrested for stealing that max money from Chicago if Taj Gibson is going to take his spot during crunch time. I hate to see a Dukie not coming through but I still had to laugh at that line. That line never gets old.

 

Boozer played 27 minutes last night. That is not max money minutes or production. He is the new Juwan Howard. Boozer has managed to get two ridiculous contracts for producing regular season double doubles. Makes me feel bad for Elton Brand who played on his best team ever this year.

After the 1st quarter they really worked on the glass and they ended up winning the rebounds battle. Lebron and Wade both played well. They aren't going to lose very many games when that happens.

There was about a 10 minute stretch in the second half that was about the most brutal basketball exhibition I had ever seen on both ends. Rose was getting to the hoop with ease then being corralled and would throw up some stupid junk. The Bulls were locked in on defense and forcing the Heat in to terrible possessions.

So Lebron "closed" it out because he had 4 points in the last 2-3 minutes of the game? He had a good game don't get me wrong. The bulls scored 2 points in the last SEVEN minutes of the game. I think they closed themselves out. :lol:

That was the ugliest half of basketball I've ever seen a playoff team play. How the Bulls were in the game with 4 minutes to go is beyond me. Also one of the worst starts I've ever seen a team have, especially at home.

To this point in his career James is the A-Rod of the NBA. Physically superior to everyone but has a stigma of not being a closer because of what he brings to the table physically and has not always being able to get it done (whether it has been his fault or not). A-Rod had that same stigma until he started making big hits a couple of post-seasons ago. But if you looked at the numbers they were always comparable to Jeter in "clutch" situations for whatever that was worth. Same goes for James.

 

What I do not think you have ever grasped is that a lot of the criticism comes because we all know he can be more dominating that what he is. There are legit points to that effect. I want him to develop that "it" factor that many have questioned because I love greatness. I see it in him.

The Heat won because they locked down on the Bulls. Primarily by funneling all of Rose's drives in to a meat grinder. The only way the Bulls were in the game was because of their defense as well.

LeBron scored 9 of the last 12 Heat points. I think the Heat scored a total of 14 in the 4th quarter.

 

LeBron hit multiple clutch shots including a game tying 30 foot shot against Orlando in the ECF's in 2009.

 

Is everyone forgetting the game against Detroit (in 2007 I believe) when he went nuts in the 4th quarter in the ECF's and scored or assisted every Cleveland point that quarter?

 

With the exception of Kobe who has been more clutch or a better closer for the last 7 years? And after this year Kobe can hardly be called as clutch or a big threat as a closer anymore. LBJ has missed his share of game winners but no one else has likely taken as many neither.
