May 8, 201115 yr Lakers fans may agree or disagree but I think that the biggest chip in the armor in this version of the Lakers was the absence of Farmar, Vujacic, and some of those guys. You let go of all them then replace them with Blake and Barnes. I know in the off season all the Lakers fans were talking about how these were upgrades but IMO that is the biggest difference in the Lakers team of this year and the ones of the past three seasons. With Farmar especially the Lakers had a guy who could come in and give a spark and still be able to run the offense. I always thought he was going to be the Lakers PG of the future, I mean kid went to UCLA, had all the things that seemed to add up for a long stint in tinsletown. The Lakers still had a lot of talent at the top of the roster, but the drop off in talent on the bench is what cost them I believe. In the NBA you have to have a deep bench to win championships, and up until this year the Lakers had all the right pieces coming off the bench. I know Lakers fans will be looking for a lot of excuses but from my perspective this is the best excuse they can have. I really believe that is what hurt them the most this season outside of players such as Gasol, Fisher and others short comings.
May 8, 201115 yr As I've mentioned before I don't follow the NBA, but I don't understand why the Magic would make that trade. Howard is going to leave and they need to get the most out of him they can. Bynum and Gasol are better than any combo NJ, NY or Chicago could throw out there IMO.

I'm thinking Artest has slowed alot and Gasol has regressed physically. He got wore down to start the year when he had to play center and never really recovered IMO. Fish also wasn't as big this post season as he usually he, he's usually money this time of year.

May 9, 201115 yr I didn't watch one second of the game so I have no idea what happened but it sounds like Odom and Bynum did some stupid things. I would guess A LOT of frustration was building up but that doesn't mean what they did was OK. It is most defiantly time to rebuild for LA, Boston, and SA.

Not sure Kobe can be that guy 100% of the time anymore. Like you said he has played a ton of games. I think it is pretty amazing he is still playing at the level he is now.

Odom's foul didn't warrant an ejection, IMO. Bynum's definitely did. I can see Bynum getting 5 games maximum for his foul. Odom gave Dirk a flagrant frustration foul but it was nowhere near the level of Bynum. Bynum could have seriously hurt Barea.
May 9, 201115 yr How about the Lakers just suck for a few years for a change? Well it already happened not too long ago, it's about that time again. After Shaq left they were on hard times for a few years, its shaping up to be like back to those days. At least I hope so anyway.
