The funny thing is ... a lot of people in that silly country hate the United States ... yet for some reason .. this garbage is glorified on nearly every TV network.

 

There is nothing more useless than the "royal wedding".

 

My secret hidden past time ... is going to newspaper message boards for London newspapers ... and every time there is a newspaper article that mentions America--where people are allowed to comment--where Brits usually like to call Americans "cowboys" and "arrogant snots" ... I like to remind them that we whipped their butts the last time we fought (always goes over well!).

I confess, I'm a Royal Watcher. I'm facinated by royal weddings in particular. Probably stems from when I was a little girl and I spent the day watching Princess Di and Prince Charles' wedding. It was so beautiful, with all the pagentry and stateliness. Yes, I care about this wedding.

 

I am with you, rockmom, on the Royal weddings part. I am going to go back even further than Di and Charles. Princess Anne's wedding, sister of Prince Charles. I was a little girl, we were living in Germany, and pretty much the same time zone. Watched it commercial free on AFN tv!!

While I agree that it's silky, I dont think it's up to me to choose what others should be concerned with. You speak of it as if our government is wasting money on it or something. Yeah, it's getting tv coverage, but if a Kardashian got married it would get coverage as well. Just ignore it and move on...no need to insult those who are interested.

I blame the media, not the people who are so interested. They would not even be so interested without the overindulgence of the coverage. Don't write so much into my feelings on it. Not really, the media is a business just like any other business they want to make a profit, and by showing these type of events that's what they do.

The media has covered a lot of things more stupid than this that is for sure. Should they not cover sports because we have more important things to worry about? They cover what people want to see and read about not what is most important for our country.
