Commander 25
Not much of a difference. I thought there was more than that thanks.
Mustang
There are 2 hotels in the "immediate" area - the Hampton Inn and the Country Suites place next to the movie theatre in Wilder. Beyond that the nearest are Erlanger/Florence and in Ohio on Beechmont/Eastgate. Perhaps the Travelodge is still functioning at the foot of the Central Bridge. I didn't say it was not doable, BUT nothing comparable to what we have in Richmond.

BIG_BALLIN
I hate that this is leaving Richmond. EKU is the perfect setting for this tournament. Hopefully it will come back in a few years. This is going to hurt the economy of Richmond, its a big money maker!
Mustang
You forgot Comfort Suites in Newport and Holiday Inn Express in Bellevue. I'm old and forgetful. I only go to Bellevue to go to the doctor - lol! Keep in mind that on Wednesday/Thursday of the "A" State Tournament you require housing for 30 teams and their fans. The 9th Region and maybe the 10th would opt to sleep in their own beds, as did the teams from the 11th Region while in Richmond . In Richmond the "A" Classic committee utilized 10 hotels including 2 in Berea. Three regions stayed at the infamous LaQuinta Inn aka "Resurrection City," three at the Red Roof Inn (which is quite nice), and two at the Days Inn. Again, not saying it's not doable, but would be a challenge.
Jim Schue
I think Richmond as a whole does a great job, but I won't miss McBrayer and its awful lighting.
Preachit
People, there are like ten hotels in covington along the river. Hop on 75 to 471to 27. Ten minutes
School Yard
Looked on the Frankfort Convention Center's web-site, looks to be a very nice place to play basketball. A cozy 5000.
mcpapa
I think Richmond as a whole does a great job, but I won't miss McBrayer and its awful lighting. The Civic Center isn't a lot better. Always looks dark in there to me.
Waldo
Hate to see it leave EKU. Me too, I think the parking is better at EKU

Jim Schue
The Civic Center isn't a lot better. Always looks dark in there to me. Yeah, but at least the lighting is true, and not washed in that sickly, yellow-orange cast that the lights at EKU give off.
CoachBuckett
Frankfort Convention Center is a great place to watch a basketball game. The Mid South Conference tournament is held their. The girls state tournament was held there. Parking can be difficult.
