The Legend of Frank "The Tank" Muntis

Featured Replies

Way up high in my 2011 enjoyable b-ball moments was when Frank Muntis dropped some late game FTs in the 9th region championship. Not necessarily pretty but he did score 2.

Every kid who isn't getting the PT or doesn't have the skill yet that will garner PT at the varsity level should look to Frank as a guide. I've watched him during his sophomore and junior year and it wasn't always pretty. However, you saw his body developing and his game developing every time.

Now he's the first sub off the bench at Rupp Arena in a few weeks for Dixie.

Add in that he's a heckuva kid and an ace student and you've got yourself a role model if you're a youngster.

Nice job, Tank.

Frank is one of the nicest kids there is. I had the pleasure of coaching him during his sophomore year when he played baseball and it was always "yes sir" or "no sir". Absolutely loved to see him knock down those FTs late in the final today. And even better to see the student body get behind him and support him to no end.

Great post Clyde. :thumb:

Way to go Frank. You did yourself and Dixie Proud tonight. Good luck in Lexington.

Tribute to his parents. I have heard nothing but good things about him also. I couldnt help but enjoy watching him sink those 2 FT's.

Every team needs a "Frank the Tank". Great kid.

It's obvious that he's well liked, the ovation from the stands during introductions told me so.

Great kid. Very proud of his accomplishments. He has worked his tail off all year long. He helped bring this team home a victory!!

Could this be the son of Bob "preying" Muntis, former 6'10" center from Highlands that matriculated to Miami (O)? Following the old man's footsteps to Rupp Arena...way to go Frank! I'll be rooting for you and your Dixie teammates to do our region proud!

Graduated Highlands with Franks dad Bob. It sounds like Frank is a chip off the ole shoulder. In talking with Bob at the Highlands/Dixie football game, I can tell you , he is one very proud papa of his children.

GO FRANK THE TANK:dancingpa

Frank was great for Dixie last night in a reserve role. I really think his intensity out there with the few big rebounds and made free throws helped ignite his other teammates after Pike and Stansberry fouled out.

Great kid both on and off the court from what I've heard.

I don't know him but from watching him play this year you can tell he is a good kid. I was grinning from ear to ear when he hit that first free throw! Congrats on helping your team make it to state.

A very unique kid....would go out of his way to help a little old lady cross the street if the opportunity presented itself.

I overheard one of the Dixie players saying last night that everytime you are around Frank you walk away with a smile. What a phenominal quality to have.

His free throws had so much arch on them that the ball came down covered with ice crystals...as it swished through the net. :thumb:
