Announcers talked to refs after game and said the the official scorer had given Prewitt's "4th" foul , which was assessed to another player.

Tony Sapp is one of the best official scorers in the state. That doesn't sound like something he would do. I'm guessing there is more to the story.

Just repeating what the Mason Co announcer stated. I think someone at the game can add more.

Great game by Pendleton. I don't think I have ever watched or listened to game like this where a player came back after supposedly fouling out. Usually the bench catches the the wrong fouls way earlier and not after fouling out. Could that minute he was out have made a four point difference? Strange game because of that but otherwise a very entertaining game to listen to. Congrats to Pendleton.

MC has alot returning next year and should be one of the top teams in the 10th...good season guys. Also congrats to PC on winning and advancing to the semi-finals.

Sounds like a great deal of intrigue is already happening at the Fieldhouse. But either way, Congrats to PC for the big win.

The story I heard is that the table told the officials he had 5 fouls so he went to the bench. During a timeout the table informed the officials that, oops, he only had four fouls so he re-entered.

This is what happened on Prewitt's foul. When the foul was called everyone had Prewitt with his fourth foul EXCEPT the official scorer. The #4 with 4 fouls even came up on the scoreboard. Prewitt is removed. At the next break (not for sure how much time) asst. Coach Fawns questioned the ref about a prior foul. The ref said the foul was on #45. They proceeded to the scorer to question who he marked with the foul and he had marked #4 instead of #45. The refs met a midcourt, discussed the call, called the coaches to midcourt and corrected the mistake and Prewitt went back in the game.

Mason Monroe was unstoppable tonight for Pendleton County. He finished the game with 31 points. After scoring 8 straight points at one point in the third quarter, he came off the floor and promptly lost his lunch. Incredibly gutsy effort for Monroe. I can't wait to see how high this kid's ceiling is.

 

Michael Walsh's defense on Prewitt was also huge tonight. He had Prewitt frustrated all night, and Walsh also chipped in 17 points of his own.
