March 1, 201115 yr I know, I'm a CCH alum and I have no idea who wrote it. I guess I'm not from around here either. I live around "here" I don't have the slightest clue.
March 1, 201115 yr When I grew up, I had a dream of marrying Daisy Duke. I worked hard to make sure my chores were done by 7pm on Friday nights. But as I grew older, I realize that this wasn't going to happen. I dont remember sending a bunch of people a letter asking people to pressure Daisy into marrying me. I also didnt send a letter requesting them to bombard CBS with letters forcing her ouster because she didn't marry me. Her acting maybe. What's next for these players? The parents don't feel like they got a fair shake on a job interview so they proceed to send e-mails to the corporate heads requesting the job interviewer's ouster? Their kid gets a speeding ticket so they show up in court on their kid's behalf to argue the fairness of the ticket? A girl dumps their son so they send e-mails to her parents and aunts and uncles asking that she be punished? Parents will be the ruination of high school sports. They are already on their way. At some point, you have to quit trying to fight all of their battles or they will never be self-relient adults. Don't you get it Scribe? Everyone's a winner, and every single person deserves to get exactly what their heart desires no matter what. Welcome to the 21st century!!
March 1, 201115 yr The naming of the author is not for this board as it would only hurt the child of said author. That's never good.

March 1, 201115 yr Author I think the author does a poor job stating his case. If everything is as bad with Coach Listerman/CCH Basketball as the author would like us to believe he should have plenty of detailed and specific examples to cite. No wonder he didn't sign it...

As a non-CCH guy said to me the first half of it is a great recruiting letter for CCH.
March 1, 201115 yr Author Seems like it. Seems like everyone in NKY knows who wrote it but doesn't want to say their name. Hey Guru, was the email forwarded to you from the person or did you stumble across it like everyone else did? Did you have their permission to post it or did you say 'the heck with it' and put it out there? This whole situation is intriguing. Someone sent it to me and we discussed whether to post it on BGP or not. We both agreed the letter has made the rounds, it is pretty much fluff and BGP is not in the business of censorship so we put it out for everyone to see. As far as who wrote the letter, I don't know for sure but I have a good idea... And some people I know would argue the author is a few fries short of a happy meal. Just sayin...
March 1, 201115 yr Short version: I paid all this money for my kid to go to Cov Cath and he's not even getting to play.
March 2, 201115 yr I think that is a dangerous road to travel on guessing who may have wrote the email. Someone, a parent, student or even another coach could have seen an opportunity to write it and went for it. As Clyde stated, it will only hurt the child of the person who people think it is, no matter if they are right or wrong. I was sent the letter a couple of days after it came up on BGP, a few other posters thought it was not a big deal, that it wasn't being very harsh, and that it was actually written very well. I know for a fact that about a week before the email was sent out that there were some problems during and after a game in which things were said between a few people, as well as that things were said in a practice a day or two later. As I said above, someone else could have seen an opportunity at this point. It does not say it's about playing time, one should look at the "Things like being respectful to others, about having dignity...being fair and honest." a bit more closely to find what the author may have been trying to say. As well as people making "them (players) FEEL about themselves". From what I understand the email was sent to the parents of all the players, at least one person in that group had to forward it to others outside of those people it was intended for, and it really spread like wild fire across NKY.
March 2, 201115 yr Why would an opposing coach want to end the "turmoil" at CovCath? Seems like opposing coaches would benefit from continued turmoil with the program.

March 2, 201115 yr Wow that was long. If I was to go through all that effort I would sign my name. Oh wait a minute...I would sign my name even if it was a sentence.:lol::lol: Unlike many people if I feel I have a legit issue I need to discuss regarding my son/daughter to a coach, teacher, etc. you better bet your bottom dollar I would speak up. Call me a full of crap if you want but it wouldn't be about playing time but rather the other issues this person stated (if that were happening.) It never ceases to amaze me the "fear of God" people have with coaches. What makes it not ok to ask them questions? They are coaches. It is comepletly ok to question any other people that have some influence or apart of your child's life! I really have never understood this? Call me crappy (or another choice word) for stating this but just calling it like I see it. I have many coach friends. I have respect for most coaches. I have no respect for coaches who think they can do or say whatever they want just because they are a coach. I realize this is just my opinion but I stand behind it 100%.

March 3, 201115 yr Poor guy has some issues! Was it his dream or his kids dream to play at CCH? "He had a basketball in his hand since he could walk". Sounds like daddy wanted to live vicariously through his son? I agree. I am guilty of this and openly admit it. However, I don't push my son or get involved with coaching decisions because in the end it doesn't help your kid or the team. I ask my son to give 110% and try and have fun because it goes by quick. Would I love for him to be a starting guard on a Regional championship team so I could see him do something I never accomplished? Heck yeah ! But to be honest I get more pleasure when he tells me he aced a Biology test or he talks with me about what he wants to do later in life. Not many kids are going to have q chance to be the starter on a team like CovCath so knowing your role nd busting your tail is all you can do. Let the chips fall where they may. If you truly feel your kid is doing these things, being a team player and still being slighted, then set up a meeting with the coach and AD and discuss it. If your kid is doing the right things then you have a leg to stand on. But in the end its the coaches decision ono who hs the better talent and who can help him win games. We always may not agree but we have to deal with it. Its called LIFE.
