Trinity 41 Henry Clay 20

Featured Replies

Side note...there wasn't any trash talking in the game either.

It would be the first time in history that a game was played with zero trash talking.

They do not have to recruit. The tradition and excellence of the football programs at Trinity and St. X sell themselves. So while the recruiting accusations may be off base, it is safe to say that plenty of young men "pay their way" to go there for the specific purpose of playing football. Just because it is legal does not mean that everyone has to agree that it is fair. If kids in the city of Lexington or any city around the state for that matter, could ignore districting and just flock to one school, perhaps that school could be built into a perennial power as well. It seems as if a lot of people around the state are growing tired of one of these two schools always showing up in the 4A title game, so now that both teams are in it, it just makes it that much more painful to watch. A lot of coaches and players feel as if they are at an unfair disadvantage, and there is some merit to that argument.

You are partly right...X and T do sell themselves.........but these other arguments about being fair don't measure up....If they were true...then X and T would be playing for the basketball and baseball titles as well. When was the last time either of these teams even made it to the final in those sports?

Way to go Rocks! I'm hoping to recover my voice before Friday's big game against X!

You guys have the heart and grit that makes a fan proud!

As for the "T" stomping....how about we let it go? We proved that we could overcome that incident, and won by not letting our emotions get the best of us!

One more, boys! I'll be there, shouting from the third floor! I'm pretty sure that TonyDanza and Deuce will be bringing restraints, though. :irked:

GO ROCKS GO!!!!

I did not take the time to read all this trhread, but what a terrible decision by Hc to come out throwing and spot t 14

I hope X does not do the same thing

Congrats to the pebbles

It was.

I wish henry clay would be given the respect they deserve after a great season!

I would love to give them respect but they did not earn it, and it was all true. I was there firsthand. Sorry to disappoint you.

Wow! Thought it would be closer than that. Good win rocks! Good luck againts X. Trinity's field looks very nice to.

If Coach Beatty was overheard telling his team that their opponent was trash before a game you would hear the wailing and gnashing of teeth from here to Paducah. There would be calls for him to be fired It was said, there were witnesses. Let's see if the same standard of conduct apply to public and private school coaches.

Being a little overdramatic there?

I do believe that if Bob Beatty (or Mike Glasier for that matter) made that kind of remark about a team (especially if it were a public school) they were getting ready to play (other then each other of course) that there would be a huge amount of negative reaction from all over the state and much of that reaction would call for disciplinary action if not outright dismissal on the grounds that they insulted the opposing players and that they were setting a poor example for their team.

Like how Glaser basically said on air that he's come to expect cheap and dirty play from Manual?

Get over it.

I think both of these teams are at fault here. Henry Clay stomped on the T. Sure, it wasn't nice, but it's football and they're teenagers. Trinity blew something small way out of proportion. They won, how can they complain? Plus, not everything said here about henry clay is true. Props to Trinity for winning and going to the finals, but quit putting henry clay down! I don't remember anyone calling anyone trash. I have a lot of respect for Coach Simpson and he would never do that. Most of the team is good kids. If there was any trash talking it would only be a few people. I wish henry clay would be given the respect they deserve after a great season!

Stomping on the opponents' logo and taunting them at mid-field with them less than 15 yards away is NOT part of football; never has been and never will be.

If it was part of football, most teams would be doing it. It is ridiculous in college and almost always causes a volatile situation, as it will do in high school if IRRESPONSIBLE adults continue to condone it.

Good coaches have their teams' attention when it comes to matters of discipline because they know that disrespectful actions toward the opponent will be dealt with SEVERELY.

Kids will do what they are permitted to do.

HC showed poor behavior in the regular season game with Dunbar as well and were flagged several times for it; it is tolerated or otherwise it would not continue to occur.

Again, you're being a little overdramatic. Most reasonable fans acknowledge that some things get said in the heat of battle and tend to let them ride.

Get over it.

Yeah, but Manual is "like a private school," whatever that means.
