George Rogers Clark 67 Montgomery County 59

Great game for both sides. IMO the refs called the obvious fouls. Both teams, just about every trip, where trying to set up to take offensive fouls. Why was Daniels still in with four? Thats what i kept asking meslef. The offensive foul that got his fifth was just stupid easy. He should not have been in there at that point. Anywho, great game. Great atmosphere. Good luck to both teams in the region!

He got his 4th , then 5th real quick. Him fouling out made a big difference in the game. He was unstoppable first half with 19 points. First time GRC has been in this bad of foul trouble so early in the game and still won. Tribute to our players off the bench. Agree with the poster on Michael Martin. Not many hustle and makes playes like him off the bench. Purvis also did well off the bench. Also Robbie didn't have much PT because of foul trouble early too. Think the fouls first half were something like 15+ on GRC and 5 on Montgomery Co.

Daniel's replacement was at the scorer's table waiting to get in when the 5th foul was called. Without using a timeout there wasn't a chance to get him out and we could discuss the pros and cons of that option all night. Hindsight being 20/20 I would have called the timeout but in real time I probably wouldn't have. But that play definetly changed the game.

The absolute worse refs I've seen all season. (both ways)

I agree. What region is the 10th officials doing this year?

Great effort by the kids from Montgomery tonight.

Last game it was that Rogers was gone. This game it was the refs. How about just giving some credit to the players for competing against the #3 team in the state.

I'll start: Daniels stepped up big for Clark hitting shots from everywhere in the 1st half. Rogers is a beast and it is amazing how he can chase a kid like Prewitt around for an entire game at his size.

Montgomery got a good game from Prewitt. Asberry, Handshoe and Dotson were also making good contributions. Fruth chased Robbie Stenzel and held him to 3 points on very limited touches.

The Montgomery zone was effective.

The Clark press was effective early in the game.

Good crowd got to see a good game.

I think Robbie Stenzel only played about a quarter and a half. I think he took one shot. Thought Rogers had a very solid overall game . Daniels played well the first half. The Montgomery box amd one was very effective. Clark just needs to learn how to take care of the ball with an 18 point lead instead of jacking up shots from everywhere. It just seems they just don't learn from past experiences.

Zollo's block on one end that led to him hitting a 3 on the other end was a very impressive sequence.

I do want to give :thumb::thumb: to the Montgomery Co staff for an excellant ran tourney. GRC was the home team as they were the #1 seed. Last night against the Host school Montgomery Co, thier fans sat on the visitors side, as it should have been. Both benches were on thier side and thier cheering section was behind THEIR bench.

They had the ROTC outside directing traffic...in the rain before and after the game.

Great Tourney and class act by the Montgomery Co staff.

I believe the final foul count for the game was 18 to 19. Montgomery County shot 16 free throws and made 12. GRC shot 19 free throws but only made 9.

Montgomery County was trying to foul for the final 2- 2.5 minutes! Referees stunk this one up pretty bad, what few they did call against Montgomery in the first half were bad!

Youve noticed that too. Always some reason why the score was closer than it should have been except that the other team may have played a good game and forced GRC into not playing as good as they should.

Even the refs could not help MC win game. GRC was punished all game for being tall. Evenly called this game would not have been close.

Not sure what you mean when you say that GRC was punished for being tall. To my knowledge very few fouls were called that had anything to do with size (I am guessing that you are referring to an over the back call). This game was evenly called, it was bad both ways. I think some GRC fans are willing to find any way possible to make claim as to why Montgomery was in this game.

I think Montgomery Co will give anyone a good game in the 10th region. They're quick, smart and well coached.
