February 24, 201115 yr 10 losses under Tubby or 10 losses under Cal? (I realize they only have 8 losses to date, but with 3 conference games left, plus the SEC tourney and NCAA tourney, they will end up with at least 10.)
February 25, 201115 yr IMHO, I prefer 10 losses under Cal, and for one reason only: HOPE. With Tubby, most of us felt that the next year would be more-of-the-same. With average/above average recruits coming in. With Cal, almost all of us are excited about the talent he can bring in, both now & in future years. People can endure almost anything as long as they have HOPE that things can & will improve.
February 25, 201115 yr It's all the same...10 losses is 10 losses. The sky wasn't falling then and it isn't now. Average team at best this year. It is what it is. It seems to me everyone wants to compare this team to last year since they both feature talented frosh. Simple math. Wall>Knight, Bledsoe>Lamb, Miller=Miller, Patterson>Jones, and Cousins>Jorts. I don't care who is coaching this team, it wouldn't be much better.

What if the recruiting class of last year turns out to be lightning in a bottle and Calipari can never match that again (which is going to be extremely difficult)?

February 25, 201115 yr 10 losses with Cal is better than watching 10 wins with Saul Smith running the point:madman::madman::madman::scared::scared::scared::eek::eek:
February 25, 201115 yr What if the recruiting class of last year turns out to be lightning in a bottle and Calipari can never match that again (which is going to be extremely difficult)? I think last year was lightning in a bottle. This year's class could be great, too, but it lacks the veteran leadership. Freshman leading freshman rarely works, no matter how talented they are. Hopefully a few of this year's frosh stick around for a couple years & Calipari can get some depth back to the program. He desperately needs to add a big man for next season.
February 25, 201115 yr To answer the question: Tubby's, because he had a 9 loss season followed by 3 consecutive 10 loss seasons. Tubby's team lost 25 games in his last 2 seasons. And lost in the 2nd round of the NCAA each of the last 2 years.

February 25, 201115 yr  Now that's funny... Out of context much GT, you're really getting the hang of this whole media thing.....
February 25, 201115 yr I love the pot stirring. I wonder how many people would have loved to post nonsense like this last year, but didn't have the opportunity during a 3 loss season. That said... the worse one is whoever has them more often.
