Well.....it seems the AD sends an e-mail to Richard Skinner every Monday saying they are almost close to hiring a coach.

I've seen the Skinner updates...only one said they were close to hiring a coach. Did I miss one?

There have been three updates from Skinner articles to my knowledge. Last Monday it said a coach should be hired by Friday.............................That came and went and this Monday's said they were hiring soon. Bottom line is that teaching position openings have got to be a problem.

Is the AD still Nick Wilson? If so, he is a nice guy and does care about the well being of Bellevue athletics. It may be that the teaching positions are tying the hands of the AD.

Nick is currently the AD at Bellevue. My point would be not to say anything rather than emailing the press and making statements that are not coming true (and again perhaps through no fault of his own). Also......................if it is indeed dealing with teaching positions then Nick really has very little say in the hiring of the coach. The SBDM council would be interviewing the teaching/coaching candidates and making their recommendation.....

Just hire a non-teacher. Ryle did and it works for them.

Ryles coach is not a teacher ?

I thought that if you hired someone, they would have to wait to the next school board meeting in order to become "official".

 

 

Plus, I think Ryle is the exception with para-professionals.

The rule of being a teacher and head coach is a thing of the past. However, a lot of schools still prefer to hire people that teach in the building. In most cases a coach can be found to coach football and basketball and be teachers, it was becoming harder and harder to find coaches for swimming, golf, tennis etc... so they went the para professional route.

Just looked on KHSAA web site there are still 5 schools in Ky that are still looking for head coach's and 4 of them posted there jobs last month not in Jan. How hard is this? IDK i have never had to hire a football coach/teacher before but can it really be this hard. I am the only people that are suffering here is the kids.

ABC, where have you been? Must have gone somewhere for spring break, as you havn't posted on this one in a while.

 

While I don't know all the specifics of the hiring process, I do know (or have heard) that teachers are not 'required' to indicate whether or not they will be returning until sometime in April. So, in a small school district like Bellevue, the entire landscape of potential teaching vacancies across the district remains unclear. Since the candidates for the HC position are likely all techers, it stands to reason that the school district has to figure out both pieces to this puzzle.

 

Or, the other answer could be that they are frequent readers of BGP, and as they have no doubt read your posts and those of others, have chosen to toy with you through the process. They could just be delaying their decision to watch your slow burn.

Well if you read the other forums you would know my sons missions trips are in the summer but this year he will not be doing one as he will be going to Ft Benning Ga for boot camp the day after graduation then to MSU to play football. As for the spelling one of your friends taught me a new thing. Spell check and its pretty cool.

One more thing for all you people who were busting my chops on that forum i have not seen any scores how are they doing???

Go to the Highlands Baseball website and you will see each score recorded.

I'm hearing an announcement could come today or tomorrow. In any case, Bellevue is close to having a coach not named Eckstein!
