February 27, 201115 yr Hows this for you then. I think that as a whole plumbers are bigger money grubbers then anyone. No one deserves the fees they charge. But CEOs are worth their eight and nine-figure salaries? What is it you right-wingers have against folks who actually do real work for a living?
February 27, 201115 yr Hows this for you then. I think that as a whole plumbers are bigger money grubbers then anyone. No one deserves the fees they charge. I am a retired Pipefitter , I was a certified welder ( Tig ,Mig ,Stick ,and gas , I was a certified rigger and trained in instruments and controls . I can read Blueprints and Drafting Often I was a foreman on the job . All of this trained by the union :madman:I was not a plumber I repeat "I WAS NOT A PLUMBER":madman: and FYI , nowadays the vast number of the plumbing contractors that you are referring to in the home repair business are non-union , and I agree with you that they charge too much and pay a very small percentage of what they do charge to their employees so take it up with them . What do you do for a living ?
February 27, 201115 yr Author None of your business because if I told you that it would be a huge clue to who I am and I choose to keep that to myself. I will say that my profession requires a minimum 4 year degree although a Masters has become the new standard, a specific training program, passing a rigorous certification examination as well as the accumulation of continuing education credits throughout your career. I believe with the deepest core of my being that a majority of unions are corrupt, that they are in business now solely to enhance the lives of their leadership and do little if anything to actually help the average worker. In that regard I believe that unions are every bit as evil as the left would have you believe that corporations are. If you choose to be in a union more power to you but if I want to pursue a trade and I don't want to join a union I should have that option. I fully support right to work states, I wish KY would pull their collective heads out of the sand and let that happen here but alas union money will not allow that to happen because they know that they would lose a HUGE percentage of their members if they were allowed to opt out. I recently visited a Kroger's which, is a union shop. The checker was downright rude to me to the point that I felt the need to complain to a manager. I was told that the complaint would go on file but until there were 8 complaints of the same nature against the worker union rules would allow no action to be taken. That's wrong.

I'm sorry that I belong to such an evil entity and before I attend Mass next Sunday I will go and confess my grevious sin in the Confessional .

February 28, 201115 yr Guilty conscience? Just playing your little game. Not really adding to the thread but make sure to needle a particular poster. Isn't that how you do it?
February 28, 201115 yr Do the oil companies need a reason to raise the prices, they'll do it at anyway they seem fit, the war here the unrest there, GWB's policy on one thing or another, it's the first of the month, all planest are inline, Michael Jackson had another nose operation, any little ridiculous excuse available. Just like that. Wall Street controls the oil prices more so than the oil companies do. While we would like to think Washington keeps an eye on them they don't, the speculators can do as they please. It's the wild wild west over there. I do believe Obama will tap our reserves once gas approaches $4.00 nothing but a big band aid and a short term fix though. We are toying with a double dip recession now...

I have never once said that corporations are evil , well maybe Enron was and Bernie Madoffs co. but we need Corps to provide jobs in the US . By the way you really hurt my feelings implying that I was a Plumber:D
