I personally can't stand the wing-T, its actually very easy to defend when people stay at home and linebackers have proper reads on their "triangle".

I don't think it's so easy to defend. Look at Russell this year. :thumb:

Crittenden ran the Wing T in 98-01 and the only team that ever stopped it was Mayfield. It's a good offense if you have a small quick line w/ a committee of RB's and a mobile QB.

Also, on another note, I talked to a kid bout 5 or 6 years ago from WV and he said he his team won state running something called a Single Wing? In this offense there is no QB?

I love the single wing.

A long time ago a local team here in Ohio ran it, and the college in the same town also ran it.

Of course when you have 2 of the three guys in the backfield who can throw the rock that offense is awesome.

Ok- not easy if it is ran correctly-

I'd honestly like to see this offense, sounds like its a trip to watch

Wan't there a high school from Kentucky that ran it two years ago?I think they were from Western Kentucky?

You may not realize the team (Bellevue, WA) that ended De La Salle's national record winning streak (somewhere over 100 consecutive wins) ran the wing-t. I'd say it must not be too easy to defend because De La Salle is very well coached and highly disciplined.

Its not about X's & O's as much as it is about the Jimmy's & Joe's.

Grayson County ran it for a couple of years.

I once played against the Notre Dame Box where they have no QB just four backs in the backfield. It is a direct snap to one of the four backs who can hand it off to anyone. You really have to play your position because of all the misdirection.

That holds true for any offense or defense. I was just pointing out the fact that if it was so outdated and easy to defend, I doubt De La Salle's streak would have ended when it did... :thumb:
