Yeagle officially resigns at Beechwood

Featured Replies

SPORTSFAN25, why do you say this is Burnetts job. He is the AD and would he be able to hold both positions. I feel the other candidate for this job is Coach Noel Rash who has been at Beechwood for some time now. It will be interesting who they name. For Coach Yeagle a very good coach and friend and I only wish him the best in his endeavors and I hope we all see him back in the near future wherever it may be. Good Luck Coach Yeagle. JD

Not sure where he is now or what he is doing. Last I heard he was coaching in Ohio, but any chance Bernie Bare would come back or even be wanted?

I'd love to see Yeagle at a N.Ky AAAA school to see if he could produce better playoff results. I think it would be pretty safe to say if he couldn't get it done, no one could. I still think Dixie, with county wide open enrollment, could become a AAAA powerhouse with Yeagle as the head and I don't for a moment mean any disrespect to Tom Spritzky who is no doubt a good coach. I just have to think with Yeagle as the head coach, he'd attract almost every good football player in the Kenton County school district. Maybe that's a little over the top, but I do think there would be a greater concentration of talent at Dixie if Tom was to concentrate on AD and administrative duties and Yeagle became the head coach. Fire away, am I nuts or what?

You are not nuts and there are some possiblities there as you mentioned. There could be some drawbacks to that plan also. Dixie too close to Beechwood for comfort, that other Colonel team down the road still gets a chunk of players, other sports at Dixie are prominent, one or two stellar players can make a big difference in 1A maybe not as much in 4A. Would be interesting though.

I'm happy with Tom. If Yeagle came here it would change too much for me. I like our offense, and defense. ST's need work, and an offensive coordinator would be nice, but I can't see giving up what we have become accustomed to for Mike Yeagle and the changes to our program that would come with him. I love him as a coach, but wouldn't trade Tom for the world. If he was not our coach, then heck yeah, I'd grab Yeagle in a minute. But he still is, so no thank you. I realize that some of you won't understand this post, and will think I'm crazy to pass on Yeagle if he wanted to be here, but as an insider of the Dixie program, I believe whole heartedly that he could not do a better job then the current staff we have. Just my opinion. ;)

I just think you underestimate the impact of Mike Yeagle, but nothing wrong with being loyal.

Maybe@ a Louisville School????

If he went to one of the Louisville public schools with any talent at all, there wouldn't be any more crying over the privates.

They'd be crying that Mike Yeagle had too much talent at his school!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's just a nice way of saying your crazy SM. I know what you mean and admire the loyalty but come on, it's Mike Yeagle. :D

Not really, 1A is not 4A, and I know where our kids begin the season and where they end up. No disrespect to you or Mike Yeagle, I just think 4A might be a little tuffer to coach a team from NKY to a state title than it is in 1A. Spritzky and company are doing all the right things, I don't believe that Yeagle would do any better. With that said, if Tom retires tommorrow I hope Mr. Yeagle put's in an application. :D

Maybe Dale should become the AD and Mike the HC, it seems like a great fit don't you think?

I agree wholeheartedly that it is tougher in 4A than in A. And I agree that Dixie improves every year. One example of the impact of Mike Yeagle is you would not Dixie getting drilled by the Birds in Week 1; he takes less talent at Beechwood and always has them ready for Highlands. They may not win, but it would always be a great game.

Maybe. I've got to admit that I'm more than a little bit curious to see how it would turn out. Has he said anything about his next move, such as whether he wants to stay here in NKY? As far as our week one results go, I'm happy with our week eleven result, but sure would like to see the trend you speak of die.....

I have heard, but don't think I am at liberty to discuss due to death by the Guru, he may end up somewhere close. But even that is just heresay.
