Impossible. If there was a foul called (non dead ball foul) then there has to be at least .1 seconds left in the game and back on the clock. If this were a college/pro game then time would have been put back on the clock.

 

There is no requirement to put time back on the clock. The rulebook says that you cannot put time on the clock unless you have definite knowledge of how much time there was. You can't guess. So unless an official heard the whistle and looked up and saw time run off AFTER the whistle nothing can be done. By rule.

Montgomery has a nice team and very well coached , not just because they won last night , because I've said this all season.

I don't know what you say is impossible. The foul was called at pretty much the same time as the horn blew. The referees did not get together to see if it was a foul or if more time should be on the clock. They lined up and shot a two shot foul. Also, after he made the first he did not shot the second. Should he have shot it? Alot of posters last week on the Clark Co foul said that a foul could/should not called with .5 on the clock. The call last night happened with that or less on the clock.

The radio guys said it had been 23 games and 10 years since Montgomery beat Mason. Someone else said it has been since Billy Ray Fawns incredible regional final performance ?'96? since Montgomery won at Mason. I don't know if either of those are accurate BUT:

Not sure how the fact that he only scored 11 points means he was only 50%? Since Handshoe didn't score 20 does that mean he was only at 75%? Setty had his opporunities to score, just could not convert. Sick or not, Montgomery forced a lot of those missed shots and executed when they needed. Congrats on the win!

I was not at the game , so I cannot post on the final seconds with facts. What I can post...a referees job is to call the game no matter how much time is on the clock. If he is watching the clock, he is not seeing the game. I am not a fan of calls that happen at the buzzer, but if he sees something then call it and let his partners make the decision when the call was made. This is not college so they cannot rely on video replays to determine when the call was made. I like what mhighfield stated, "But if we just would'nt have given up an offensive rebound would not have been issue anyway".

That makes the decision to put .2 back on the clock at the end of the GRC-Rowan game last week even more impressive. One would have to have the reflexes of a cat to have been able to give the TO and check the clock in order to have definite knowledge of the amount of time that went of the clock all in .2 second. The time was the real issue on that last play not whether the Rowan player was fouled. (He was.) There should have only been enought time left for a tip-in not a catch and shoot.

You do realize that since 1968, Mason County has either won or been in the regional final 25 times. Any "drought" they might have will last 4 or 5 years and they will pick up where they left off.
