January 31, 201115 yr It won't amount to much if those temps. are right and the road crews pre-treat the roads, no matter how much snow comes their way. Shouldn't be a problem unless things get a bit colder... It's ice accumulation on trees / power lines that has me slightly worried. I read one forecaster saying that Indianapolis is expected to get upwards of one inch of ice accumulation. That is going to put a serious load on everything. I think everyone south of Cincinnati will be fine, but just a tad north of here could be a completely different story.
January 31, 201115 yr It's not supposed to be snow.... Regardless, unless it gets colder it just won't last and will all melt before any serious damage happens. Its going to have to get significantly colder for anything major to happen.

You might want to check the latest advisory that was just put out. Covington, Maysville, Owenton and Greenup are in it. It is calling for freezing rain tonight through tomorrow.

February 1, 201115 yr They're not expecting the ice to be too big of a deal in NKY -- maybe 1/10th of an inch or so. Shouldn't have to worry about powerlines, trees and so forth.

February 1, 201115 yr Last night about 11:00 it was 31 degrees and everything was covered with a thin skim of ice. By 4 this morning when I went out to get the paper the ice had melted and it had warmed up a couple of degrees. Still hearing that things may get really bad just north of us.
