I don't know who would honestly be upset with this hire. I'm very happy with it and I hope this along with the new complex will give the program's energy a big boost. I say congrats to Coach Lickert and nice job to the folks at CCHS for making a good hire. Give him a year or two and get the Birds back on the schedule of what once was a pretty decent series until the late 90's when it got out of hand.

They won't admit it, but I you are dead on. From the people I talked with, some out there absolutely hate HHS guys and the program they came from. To each their own. Hopefully, they locals give him a chance to show what he can do. Congrats Coach Lickert!

I am not a big fan of Highlands, and I will be the first to admit it however, if Coach Lickert can bring their winning ways/traditions to Campbell County I will be one happy person and we all know all the naysayers will shut their mouths.

Not asking anyone to be a fan of HHS or any school for that matter. Hopefully, the faithful out there gives Coach Lickert a chance. It will take awhile for the kids to buy in. But if they do, I think good things will have for the Camel program.

I hope Coach Lickert realizes that if a modern day Knute Rockne was hired, there would still be a "small number" of narrow-minded wannabes complaining that their candidate wasn't chosen. Mark Perry would have been an excellent choice as well. However, Stephen Lickert's enthusiasm for inspiring kids and developing football programs is infectious.

 

This is a great hire for Campbell County! This is now his program arm-chair QB's, please give the guy a chance. He has been an absolute winner at every level and his success will quiet the naysayers if given a fair opportunity. Coach Lickert is a quality person and as a Camel fan, I am embarrassed that he needs to be subjected to the unwarranted negativity generated on BGP's and other blogs.

I think this will be very good for the county! Coach Lickert will be successful with the kids. He is a great motivator and his enthusiasm is infectious.

To be fair it seems to be only one Campbell person spouting off about the hire on here, and reading between the lines of past post on here it's most likely the same individual that posted the stuff on the Enquirer blog. That individual for some reason has a huge axe to grind. Heres looking at you UKFAN4EVER. :idunno:

Congrats Steve and CCHS. I think it's a great hire. While the 6A competition is tough in N. Ky and of course you have X and T to contend with in the playoffs, I think CCHS is going to be very successful under Steve. Due to Coach Styer's efforts, Steve is not inheriting a program in shambles. Coach Styer did a lot of very good things at CCHS. I think Steve will build on those accomplishments and at CCHS he should be able to concentrate more on football than a lot of the other things he had to do at Holmes. Hopefully the nights of washing football uniforms for his players are behind him and he can concentrate on the Xs and Os at CCHS.

 

I'll admit, I feel sorry for Holmes. Steve did a very good job there and I'm not just talking about wins and losses. I know some folks in the administration at Holmes and they were very, very happy with Steve. I hope they find another enthusiastic coach who can relate to the kids and be willing to help them on and off the field like Steve did.
