Newcath v Fern Creek Predictions (12/30)

Featured Replies

Championship game of the Lloyd Memorial Invitational.

Newcath defeated 3 time LMI champ, Holmes, 55-53 yesterday to advance to this game.

Fern Creek defeated host Lloyd by 20 to advance.

For those who can't make it, nkysports.com will be bringing you live video coverage of this game. Just go to nkysports.com, click on our webcasts link and there should be a link to watch it. You can also view it afterwards as well.

Thoughts?

Fern Creek has won three games in this tournament by playing stupid ball (as other posters have paraphrased). Maybe this 7th region bottom feeder has got one more stupid game in them to win the chanpionship!

I didn't see yesterday's game but as the main critic of their basketball intelligence I'll say that their talent is good enough to win tonight.

Fern Creek is too athletic for NewCath. Fern Creek by 13

That is also what everyone was saying about Holmes to much for NewCath, should be a great game at Lloyd. JD

If Geisler can keep the big 6'9 kid grounded the Breds can win. I think he can get into him and possibly get him into foul trouble. Geisler is fantastic around the basket and strong. Highlands' Jack Stewart scored 35 against Fern Creek over the summer and the 6'9 kid was playing. I would have to think Geisler will have his way as well.

If this were a regular game I would agree but as well as Geisler played last night he was totally spent at the end. Four games in four days will take its toll on even the best of athletes. I just wonder how much he will have left to go against a bigger guy for a change.

That will be a common scouting report summation for opponents against NewCath. Perception is 99% reality. They appear to be athletic enough. People said the same thing in football as well.

The Fern Creek depth will be the difference in this game, IMO.

No disrespect to Holmes, but they don't have D1 athletes coming off the bench like Fern Creek does. I'd look for this to be close throughout with the Tigers pulling away late 3rd quarter, early 4th quarter. As athletic as Holmes is, Fern Creek is even more athletic.

Fern Creek also took the opportunity to rest their players throughout the Lloyd contest. They should be the fresher team.

I hate to go against a 9th Region team but Fern Creek should win this one.

Has this game started? It's not on Ihigh - just a blank screen.

I have the same thing,blank.

I can't see the game yet either... anybody know what's going on?

Does anyone know anybody that went tonight that they might be able to call them on their cell to see what's up?
