Ballard 92 Covington Catholic 56

I stand corrected from my pre-game observation. I believe CC made 31 turnovers. Blowout.

31 turnovers in a 32 minute game? That is one of the craziest stats I have ever heard.

Can someone provide more details please?

Hopefully this game becomes a learning lesson for the Colonels.

The majority of the TO's didn't come from the Ballard press but more from Ballards quickness in cutting off the passing angles that CovCath has been able to turn into points, on everybody else this season.

Ballard is indeed the real deal and they just go so deep without missing a beat.

Tomorrows game vs. Henry Clay (Fayette County Ga. defeated HC by 2pts) is huge for these young men as they need to bounce back and right the ship.

As my Mom told me years ago, "Son there will be day's like this but you just need to put it behind you, learn from it and move on"!

Hey Old Guy, did your Mom say anything about a press break???

I only could watch 3 quarters but I agree with TOG that the most damage was in the half-court. About half-way through the 3rd they did start getting TOs in the backcourt or near midcourt. They did a great job of cutting off the wing and contesting any ball put on the floor while CCH did an extremely poor job of making them pay for being overly aggressive.

I thought Jake and Alex played pretty well.

Scary to think that Ballard has 2 freshman and one sophomore in their starting lineup.

Ballard has to be the top scoring team in the state don't they?

I thought for sure that Covcath would be able to keep this one close considering Holmes played them so tightly.

Impressive win for Ballard.

Holmes can also run-and-gun with Ballard, hence the 100-94 final score of their game. CovCath isn't as well suited for a high-scoring game like this.

J-Town was averaging 81.8 pts/game going into tonight's contest with Carver, TN...I'll have to check on Ballard.

If Kentucky.com website is correct, Ballard is averaging 87.4 pts/game after the CovCath beating.

Wow, didn't see this coming. The 9th region should make for an exciting year knowing that anyone and everyone can be beaten on a given night. Looks like the red Colonels are standing alone at the top right now until someone can prove differently.

Thelen 24 and 8 - enhancing his POY candidacy.

109 points in his last 4 games.

Ballard had 39 points off of turnovers.

44 deflections.

Hands were everywhere.
