Lunardi says Kentucky will be a one seed.

No way UK is a #1 seed this year without Kanter being eligible. If he is ruled eligible, then I can see it being a possibility.

The SEC is terrible enough that it's not out of the question...

Exactly. Most know UK is in the 10-20 range and not the 1-4. But they would not be the first nor last team to take advantage of a weak conference in order to get a top seed.

What losses do you foresee?

I could see:

@UofL

@Florida

@Tennessee

@Vanderbilt

@Georgia

That's a max of 5, which realistically is probably more like 3. So a 28-5 UK team (assuming they win the SEC tournament), couldn't get a #1 seed?

If UK wins the SEC they should get the #1 seed.

This year it's about the equivalent of winning the A10...

If UK wins the SEC they should get the #1 seed.

:lol: Why?

Maybe he thought this was a football thread.

I'm thinking a 2 or 3 seed; definitely not proven to be a #1 yet.

If UK wins the SEC they should get the #1 seed.

If they lose another three or more, I don't see it happening even with winning the conference. I believe that Duke, Kansas, Ohio State, and the winner of the Big East will likely be the 1 seeds with the way things look now, but I guess we will see how everything turns out.

I really haven't seen the other SEC teams enough to answer that question. I just know UK is very young, and very suspect against teams with good post play. I find it hard to believe that UK is one of the top 4 teams in the country.

I'd flat out be thrilled if they end up being the #2 seed in Duke's bracket.

Count me in this as well :lol:

Nobody said they were.

If you look at the state of college basketball........really the top 4 seeds are going to come from the following:

Big East Champ, Big Ten Champ, ACC Champ, Big 12 Champ, SEC Champ

In my opinion the easiest road to a championship in those 5 conferences is the SEC.........potentially less losses in other words. The ACC probably the 2nd easiest......................

Therefore I think from a record stand point the champion of the Big East Big Ten and Big 12 will nto only have more losses but have more chances of losing in the conference tournament.
