Does anyone know when the AP All State Team comes out?

You make no sense at all. First you say productivity this year is what matters. Now you say it's something else, imaginary I presume. Just keep making it up as you go along and dig your hole deeper.

 

Let me clear it up. I said productivity on the field matters. You pointed out two kids that were productive. I then said great but there are a lot of productive kids and there are only 11 spots. What's confusing you?

No qb made first team but Mayfield's Luke Guhy is the 2nd team qb. Mayfield is very well represented. KIngston first team all state is great and Jackson is the only sophmore on the first or second team. Several Card HM's as well.

 

DaMarcus Smith is a QB and he made first team......has a scholarship to UL. He is quite a passer.

You continue to make it up as you go along. First, I never said one kid should be 1st team and the other not. You're implying I did. But if productivity on the field matters, why was one kid completely ignored when he did more on the field at linebacker? Nothing is confusing me, you're simply being a contrarian who wants to deny the facts.

I don't want to deny the facts. Josh Harris is one the best football players I have ever laid eyes on. What's the problem?

I would speculate that there isn't another kid in the state, high school or college , who can throw the ball with velocity and distance like this kid. I'm not sure on his touch but he's got a rifle!

Hardesty had around 3500 yards passing and 49 TD passes also played D with some pick 6's. Not saying he should of been either 1-3 team, but at least Honorable Mention there were some QBs that got injured and only played 7 games. Just haven't figured it out I guess. He led his team to the title game.

Oh and Congratulations to Detrick Cooper from Fort Knox making second team...he was an animal on Defense posting 166 tackles in 12 games.

Did I say I had a problem with Josh Harris? Nope. Josh Harris is an excellent player and deserves what he got. I said I wondered why another player who had excellent numbers as a linebacker and didn't even get an honorable mention. BTW - the stats are the only objective measure of performance.

Can't argue with any of the selections / omissions. However, it seems odd that a consensus Top 5 team in the Commonwealth (Highlands -- no need to get that argument started here) merits only a 3rd Team DL position and some honorable mentions. I guess TEAM is more important than individual players.

 

Well I do not think Dale nominates of sends out the name of his players, in talking to a few coaching friends of mine they said they had never seen anything from Dale concerning any of his players. Coaches vote on this things and normally they send out information about kids they think are deserving. There has been many years where Highlands kids are very well represented on the all state team.

I guess coaches define productivity/production different than what you cite. You saw one kid being more productive. Coaches who voted saw another kid being more productive.

 

I could throw out that Jerry Arlinghaus threw for 2600 yards this year and say he was more productive than some who made it. Coaches would probably rightly disagree with me. Being productive is more than just numbers.

 

Ex: Let's say the #1 CB in the state by anyone's measure doesn't have a lot of picks. Every coach in the state knows he's the best DB so they don't throw at him. Is that kid "productive?" I'd say he is since he's taking away half of the field for the offense.

 

I said at the beginning that the kid cited by Orca may deserve to be 1st team yet no one has stated why besides his scholarship offer. Your argument seems to be that it's JUST a stats issue ie one kid had more tackles than another. Maybe they ran away from the other kid due to his skill. Who knows?
