Agreed. This year's Highlands team played like a team and there really were no earth shattering statistical leaders. Its nice to see Drake Bruns get 3rd team All state on Defense and his brother get Honorable mention. Both coming back next year on that side of the ball. Also, Pat Towles gave everyone a glimpse (5 TD's in first half) so I would expect him to move up to 1st team next year and contend for Mr. Football.

Let me state that I've never seen the kid play so I can't say if he is a 1st teamer or not.

 

With that said your reasoning is flawed. There are kids who will end up playing D1 that do NOT put up the production that non-D1 kids do. This is not a measurement of your D1 potential. It's a measurement of your productivity THIS YEAR ON THE FIELD. Again, maybe he deserved to be. I don't know but your rant is irrational and childish.

He had two interceptions with one returned for a TD. Again, flawed logic. Are you saying a decent-at-best football team cannot have two all-staters? Did football turn into a 2-on-2 and I didn't hear about it? Maybe the other 9 simply weren't good enough to help beat the competition.

Would it be fair to say that coaches are somewhat limited in their exposure to players from around the state? Do you think Dale Mueller spends much time studying O-linemen from 1A or 2A schools in western KY? Can Dudley Hilton breakdown Dixie or Lloyd and tell you about their running backs and receivers?

 

It's a system that will never be perfect yet every year we get people crying like someone stole something from them over this.
