Was Losey hurt last year? Why did he not play?

 

No he was not hurt.

Boone co played zone most of the game. CC hit 10 or 11 3's. Camels much quicker than rebels, probably why they didn't play much man to man. Boone Co overrated or Campbell Co underrated?

 

Boone has to play a zone defense because a few of their players aren't athletic or quick enough to play man-to-man. Boone will also struggle against a team that presses. They basically play a one guard offense, the other four players are not strong enough at handling the ball to consistently break a quick pressing team. I think Holmes will eat Boone up unless they make adjustments to their lineup.

 

I think Boone Co. is a good team, but they have to make adjustments to the type of team they are playing.

From what I hear CC were great shooters tonight. Boone will struggle with teams like them. I defiantly didn't expect this outcome. Good win for the Camels though. Good luck

This is why we should never predict scores or margins of victory on here. Wow, you never know when you might get surprised. So proud of Aric, the coaching, and the players. It is so much fun to watch a team that actually shoots the ball and runs the floor so much. Very proud of Nate McGovney, known him for several years now and glad to see him help lead this team so far this season. Keep up the great work Camels. Love going to games this year.

What a great game for the Camels. I was afraid of a letdown after the emotional Brossart win. Not the case though. Camels were powered by the Nate and Nate show tonight. Nate Losey with 25 and Nate McGovney with 23. And, great team defense. They mixed up zone and man and seemed to have Boone confused and not sure what to do. Brown for Boone was strong in the middle and led the Rebels with 17.

 

The Camels show that they will bring a tough game to everyone they play. Not only do they get up and down on offense but they will bring in your face defense. Great job men!!

 

Also, congrats to Coach Russell. He has these boys believing in themselves and the team concept. That will go a long way this year.

I never said I was at the CCH game, though I've seen them play a few times this year. I had a friend relay me the information. At was at this game untill about 2 minutes left in the 4th

Yes, when a team shoots around 85% from the floor and over 50% from the three point line, they are going to win, Boone needed to play more in your face defense. Also, they started out flat, not getting after it from the get go and that caused them to have to play catch up the rest of the game. More balanced scoring from BCHS, I think Downs had 15, Montgomery 12, McQueary 16 and Brown 17. They have to get it done on defense, on offense they had a huge size advantage with Crabtree/Brown, needed to key on it earlier in the game.

 

Hopefully this will give them a spark to refocus on what they need to do to get after it consistently.

This is the second Campbell County game I've been to this year, did not expect to see them win tonight I must admit.

Boone tried to kick it up a notch in the fourth, the Camels kicked it right with them.

In the predictions thread I stated that I wouldn't be shocked if the Camels pulled the upset. I was very impressed with their overall team play.

We (Brossart) had also scrimmaged Boone, and while they were big and strong, I knew that Campbell would out-quick them in this one.

Yes 83 points is a bunch, even for the Camels - pretty impressive!

I think Holmes quickness could give the Rebels problems IF the Dawgs are smart and patient. A Boone County zone might also frustrate them.

Campbell County is using the entire front court to run their offense, so they mix a lot of East-West with their North-South. Holmes is pretty much strictly North-South.

 

If Boone County were a race horse I would send them marathon distances. Big and slow it takes them a while to get going, but they play steady, and over the long haul steady wins.

Wow this is a huge shot in the arm for the Camels. Nice to see McGovney coming into his own and playing with confidence. Its also nice to see the Losey kid back and firing away. Sounds like thecoaching change could have been what the program needed. They are obviously playing more transition hoops and scoring more points.
