You know this how? It sounds like HHS has anywhere from 1-4 in any one year. How many students moved into the Lloyd district in grades 7-9? Ryle? Simon Kenton? Bellevue? Dayton? Camp Co? Scott? Dixie? Anyone else?

Highlands, as well as many if not most other schools, does benefit from players families moving into the area. I definately think they draw kids from other areas. Why wouldn't you want to get a great education and most likely win a state championship in your 4yrs of high school? Makes sense to me..Just don't act like HHS wouldn't be successful if these so called implants didn't move into the district. Absolutely!! But not as many as you think..

I definately think they draw kids from other areas. Why wouldn't you want to get a great education and most likely win a state championship in your 4yrs of high school? Well, you are the first poster from Highlands that has admitted it makes an impact. I have never said that it is the ONLY reason Highlands is sucessful, I have said that it has an impact on their sucess.

Is it possible it's not quite as prevalent as it used to be in the Fort? Did the 2000 through 2004 season distort the view? Did the Nevels/Mitchell/Sheffield/Stowers infusion create the feeling that such new incoming talent is the norm?

Once again, when have I said it is a bad thing? I have simply said that it helps their sucess. As far as titles, I would say that they would have not won in 1998 or 2004 without out of town players. I would also say that a lack of Frisk would have hurt the 1996 cause, but maybe not have kept it from happening.

That's a good question. I'm trying to think of how many players on my son's senior team this year weren't around in grade school. I can think of one but there may be others. I sure can think of several we lost. I saw where about a quarter of NCC students were from Ft Thomas. Does any single school lose that kind of population to a private? Beechwood maybe with CCH? I wonder if NCC wasn't located so close would we get back a good percentage of those players rather than them going to CCH, Brossart or Holy Cross?

Please let us know what you think Trinity should do to change this growing sentiment? Lose some games on purpose? Not work as hard in the offseason? Let a public school beat them? What should Trinity do to make more people like them?

 

The reality is that there is nothing that they can do. As I said, everyone wishes they were in T's spot, but as I have also said, T is headed in a direction that is making them a man without a country in in KY. Do they care, probably not, but what happens to a program when it does nothing but win and nobody cares, or even worse, everyone just calls you a cheater or ignores you when you say you're a Trinity guy. What happens when being associated with Trinity becomes a bad thing?

 

Will this happen? I don't know, but I do think that Trinity provides a unique study of the perception of a sports program. Time will tell.

When they are division 1 or professional football players they become worth mentioning. They have an impact in the programs Sucess.

 

What about the Trinity's and the X's of Ky football. Compare the percentages of D1 players on those two programs compared to the percentages of Highlands D1 players and you will be very surprized of these results. Yet , this is a HHS, Trinity thread and all the mud slinging is aimed at Highlands , what's up with that ?

 

The last I heard football is a TEAM sport , meaning ALL players must contribute to be a sucessfull program .

 

One last question , how many D1 (meaning they have had an offer from a D1 college ) is on this years state championship football team ?
