Trinity vs. Highlands '10

Featured Replies

I know Trinity won the scrimmage but that was in August.

Highlands has gotten healthy throughout the season and their 38-0 win was less impressive than Highlands 50-0 win over a team many, including the GURU of all people, thought could beat this "mediocre" Highlands team. Obviously Highlands is better; Trinity even struggled a bit with Ryle last week.

So who would win if they played next Friday on a neutral field???

I would still say Trinity but the game would be awfully close with Highlands having a very good chance at winning it themselves.

What separates the 2?

James Quick.

In all honesty, I think these two are very comparable and even. Highlands is one of the few teams in the state with the speed and athleticism to match up with Trinity at the skill positions. It's in the trenches that I'd give T the advantage and where they SOMEWHAT separate themselves from the Birds.

If these two met 10 times, I'd say they'd split 5-5.

I think Trinity wins this year by a couple of TD's but I would love to see them schedule each other in the next 2 years. Trinity was very young and Highlands is young with a bunch of very gifted athletes getting ready to go thru the system. Congrats to both teams.

According to Google Maps about 101 miles. Couldn't resist.

Also remember that stud CB Drake Bruns did not participate in the Trinity scrimmage and Pat Towles wasnt playing anywhere near where he ended up. I guess you can say the same for the Trinity QB and others on Trinity's team though. Mr. Quick was very impressive in that scrimmage.

This would be a great game to watch.

I'd love to see this game next season. Both teams are returning many players and both should be even better. This would be an excellent game.

Trinity wins by 3 TD's period. Ryle beat Highlands not to long ago, and Trinity's defense was a brand new scheme in August. They shut teams down in the playoffs.

Well, we tried to schedule them next year, but were turned down. I guess we won't find out anytime soon.

Trinity's AD to my face.

...sidebar, it was before HHS had lost to Ryle.

Trinity's AD to my face.

What was the reason your AD gave for HHS not scheduling the game? I recall that in recent past Trinity turned HHS down because of the timing of the proposed game. Perhaps HHS did not have an opening when Trinity wanted to play.

If you are suggesting that HHS did not schedule Trinity because Highlands wanted to go for the all-time win streak record, then how do you explain Highlands scheduling Cincinnati Elder in 2011? I heard the HHS-Elder game was set up before the HHS-Ryle rematch this year. As I seem to recall, Trinity beat Elder on a last-second touchdown play this season... so it's hard for me to believe that Trinity is too different from Elder in football.

You also realize just how many injuries they had in the Ryle game as well, right? Highlands had to sit roughly half of their starters the game before in order to get ready for the game and it still wasn't enough. The game would be very, very close.
