Not necessarily saying your wrong but you do know that ACS has given up well over 3,000 yards on defense this season, don't you? That is an awful lot of defense for a schedule where they only played 4 winning teams in the regular season, don't you think?

 

By contrast Boyle has given up only 1600+ while playing one more game and 9 winning teams in the regular season.

Not to necessarily disagree with you, but the majority of that was through the air. They do much better with teams that predominantly run, which Boyle County fits the bill for. Each team's strength is rushing, which is the strength of the defense they are facing, though in ACS's case this is relative to how they handle the pass.

But as to Boyle being predominately run that's a misnomer. The Rebels Hale is 87-151 for nearly 1400 yards and 17 TD's. They can throw the ball when necessary. Last night was necessary and were 8-15 for 115 yds and 1 TD.

 

I just think that coupled with their problems with the pass might help Boyle a lot.

ACS can pass, but not very effectively. I think most of the games where they've had any significant amount of attempts the completion percentage has been awfully low. They attempted one pass against Western, an incomplete one. I assume they will try to do some passing to keep the Rebels honest, but they won't come out with an air raid like Lone Oak did.

Our passing game is very effective and Devan Hale's ability to run as well as his decision making on whether he should pass or run is excellent as well. On the 51 yard td pass to Harrington the pocket collapsed but his legs allowed Harrington to beat his defender and Devan found him and placed the ball in a spot where only Harrington could get to it easily for the td. Hale has also had many 3rd and long conversions with his legs because there wasn't a receiver open downfield yet he still was able to get the first down before being tackled. Hale is a very capable runner. We run a lot and we run well, but our ability to pass opens up a lot of running lanes for Cook, Cox, Dawson and Hale. My favorite offensive series are when we go to the no huddle spread offense.

IMO what makes Boyle, Boyle is that they have tons of different formations to prepare for. The Wild Rebel is just another.

How on Earth could anyone vote against Boyle County winning number #7? Too much experience and too tough of a schedule not to win it. ACS has had a great season but will not defeat Boyle in this one. The Rebels complete the perfect season and win state title number 7. My prediction is 38-14

I'm going to have to agree you. ACS has had an amazing season but it's going to come to an end on Friday. I got the Rebels by at least three touchdowns. Good luck to both teams and may the best team win. Hope everyone has a safe trip to Bowling Green.
