Ok, enough of that. I can only head to one place: Beechwood or Ryle. I've love to be at both but I'm not THAT talented. Not yet anyway.

 

Where should I go? Which one will be a better all around experience? It seems the BW/Mayfield game will be closer and more tightly contested but can I pass up the star power of Coach Beatty and his Rocks against a future opponent of my Cardinals?

I have thought of telling you where to go on a few occasions in the past, but it kind of takes the fun out of it when you ask.:lol:

 

I would suggest Ryle and Trinity. Per your post, Colerain is going to play the Rocks, and they have this WR named Quick who is exciting to watch. Elusive, tough to tackle, and fast. If you are going to be imressed with a football player from Kentucky (I know, that is asking a lot, but humor me) this year, he may be the one.

 

Anyway, you have all winter to watch that film over and over and over. So, get out and watch live HS football while you still can.

Go see this year's Ryle Raiders - Next year's team (that will face your Cardinals) will be substantially different. Treat yourself to the best of Kentucky football - in any Division. And don't underestimate the Raiders' ability to make this close - or even pull out the victory. Be there to witness history!

You need to watch Trinity. They just play a different kind of football than most high schools. And with the injury to Steffy, they will start (I believe) just 6 seniors out of 22 players. So this game may be a glimpse into the future also.

Also Trinity and Ryle are #1 & #3 in the statewide Lit ratings. Beechwood is not in the top 20.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I am getting my NKY friends chiming in as well so I've got a lot to think about.

 

I am interested in Ryle but it will be tough to gauge as Hempel is a Sr. and Ryle could look completely different next season when they travel to The Cage.

 

Either way, doesn't seem like I can go wrong with either game.

Go to the Beechwood/Mayfield game...you will feel more at home as both clubs sport Red in their uni's, not green or orange.

Either game should be very fun to watch. I'm aware that Beechwood and Mayfield are smaller schools, but they play great football too. I'm sure you won't be disappointed in which ever one you decide.

Ryle will be no where near as good next year as they are this year..They will have Elliot and more Elliot and more Elliot and that's about it..lol

Being from Ohio, you have seen some outstanding players and teams. Make no mistake, Ohio football is a notch or so above what you will see Friday night south of the Ohio River.

 

But......you will not see a team better coached and drilled than the Trinity Shamrocks. I do not wish to minimize their talent because they also have some talented players. You will not be "Wowed" by the talent. You will be "WOWED" by the schemes, by the aggressiveness, and by the attacking offense and defense they will have on the field.

 

I think Trinity is a young ballclub and that alone is a plus for Ryle's attempt to pull the upset. But it would very much be an upset to beat the 'Rocks in this contest. My guess is that Trinity will win this one comfortably.

 

You will be impressed with the preparation, the discipline, and attention to detail of Kentucky's best team! They maximize what they have each and every season.

My personal opinion is that you should get on one of the Ft. Thomas busses and learn a little Eastern Ky. geography. Plus you can watch the video of your Cardinals game twice on the way to Cawood....................I doubt the Colerain Cardinals have been anywhere like Harlan County
