Congratulations Rebels on a hard fought win. I was worried about this game all week and it turned out to be like the BC/LC games of old. Great game Knights. It will be turned around next season when you have the seasoned veterans and the Rebels are the young team.

LexCath's qb has definitely grown up. Thinking that we have 2 more years of this.......all of the people talking about how LexCath is down will be changing their thread topics next year. This kid is a stud and should only get better. He carried LexCath with his arms and his legs all night. I think the receiver named Adam Bush made one of the best catches I have seen this year and Letton was very impressive as well. Luckily for us their defense could not stop our rushing attack. Good gut check game for us and it was good to see us bear down and pull out the victory.

 

That doesn't surprise me, it seemed almost like many were considering Lex Cath duds in earlier parts of the season, but I figured that it wouldn't take long for them to be back in the near future as a good team.

How do all of the Rebels fans feel about this performance leading into the showdown with Bell County? Hard fought game for Boyle that was closer than many expected while Bell County rolled in their regional championship game. Just curious what the feeling of the team and the fans are heading into next Friday.

I'll be the first to tell you what I "feel." It would take a 180 degree turn in the opposite direction for the Rebels to beat Bell next week. I didn't get to see this game. I understand that what Lex Cath did on the field was not the same game plan Bell will use. (Throwing 42 times is something you will probably never see a Hilton team do)

 

That said, Bell's defense is "lights out" vs. the run. And Boyle's bread and butter is the run. Bell's offense has not been stopped all year and only slowed down by KC in their first game. Rebels have given up tons of points this season compared to the past.

I was at the Boyle/Bell game last year and it might be the best HS football game I've ever seen. Ill be pulling for the Rebels again this Friday night.

Well, no better summary of the LexCath side than this. It was the best all around game all year for the Knights. But its hard to win when the offense has to generate more than 45 points. Both teams were business-like in their approach to game it appeared. Few mistakes on either side, not too many penalties. Boyle County answered the challenge each time the game was within 3 points - 3 different times. Though an unfamiliar situation for BC this year, they responded when they had to in the 2nd half. Congrats to the Rebels.

 

Off the field the Boyle folks were gracious hosts for the night from the front gate to concessions and around the field. We had many compliments from people while leaving. Good luck next week. And - see you next year!

LexCath had wide open receivers all night when we didn't pressure the qb. When we got pressure to him we had some success slowing him down but then he would take off and elude a tackle or two. We aren't used to teams throwing 42 times but I give all the credit to their qb. That kid is nice. We did get a few sacks and some tackles for a loss but we didn't do that good of a job covering their receivers. I'll say both. They found the holes in our defense and exploited them.

Hopefully the defensive lapses will be gone next Friday and the Rebels will be focused for Bell.

Absolutely. They seized the momentum with an interception in the 2nd quarter and they began to put up a fight then. Great game. Another Boyle/LexCath classic.

LexCath's passing attack was just that good. It wouldn't be fair to say Boyle just had an off night. Our D was shredded because LC's passing attack was incredible.... no excuses.

Yes it has, plus Boyles pass defense has never been that great. You can even go back the the Chuck Smith era. It is a bend but don't break defense. Catholics passed for over 300 yards last week also.
