The final score sounds like this one was much closer than many expected. Congratulations Boyle.

Thanks bellbobcats.:thumb: Looks like it is going to be a cooled one like it was the last time we were their.

Way to go Rebels, congrats to Lex Cath on a hard fought game. Their QB is very talented, accurate and didn't fold under pressure, and the recievers caught about everything thrown their way. Looking forward to a cold visit to Log Mountain next week.

Yes the temps will be cold for sure. I think we will see another classic game by these 2 teams.

About tonights game, Congrats are in order for Catholic as well, sounds like they had a good game plan but came up a little short at the end.

Absolutely. They seized the momentum with an interception in the 2nd quarter and they began to put up a fight then. Great game. Another Boyle/LexCath classic.

LexCath's qb has definitely grown up. Thinking that we have 2 more years of this.......all of the people talking about how LexCath is down will be changing their thread topics next year. This kid is a stud and should only get better. He carried LexCath with his arms and his legs all night. I think the receiver named Adam Bush made one of the best catches I have seen this year and Letton was very impressive as well. Luckily for us their defense could not stop our rushing attack. Good gut check game for us and it was good to see us bear down and pull out the victory.

I must start off by saying I was totally impressed with LexCath tonight. They shredded Boyle's defense in the 2nd half from start to finish with their passing attack. Boyle's secondary was outmatched and was embarrassed throughout the 2nd half. Couple that with the fact that LexCath had no turnovers, and you can't help but be impressed with their performance tonight. It's scary to think that this team is primarily made up of sophomores and juniors and should be very very tough the next few years.

For the most part my second-guessing of coaches is in the past, but I have just one observation to make. Last year, in the state final against Lone Oak, Boyle rushed 3 and dropped 8 against Lone Oak's potent passing offense in the 1st half and got pummeled. In the 2nd half, they switched to pressuring the qb with blitzes, etc and Boyle's D took over the game. Tonight, they pretty much took the same approach by rushing 3 and dropping 8 and got mauled AGAIN using this approach. However, tonight they at least threw in some pressure with LB blitzes and such and when doing this they had success slowing the passing attack down.

But, a win is a win, and I'm proud of the team. Next week will be a war.

It's a win and we advance on to the next round. Hats off to Lexington Catholic, they came ready to play and made Boyle earn it.

Where was this game played? Seems a lot closer than what was pedicted. But a win is a win.
