A couple of protocol observations and questions:

 

1. I am surprised that NFHS/KHSAA rules allow more than 100 of people to be standing on the sidelines. I haven't been to Ryle in awhile but that was the first time I have seen that at any venue. Not sure of the exact number but it was in excess of 100- some small children actually sitting on the sidelines. Ryle was cautioned once for it but the chain gang was often delayed getting in place because of sideline crowd. Orange cards saying Ryle HS Football 2010 Field Level Pass seemed be the ticket to be able to roam the sideline. Made it difficult for teams, officials and fans in the stands. Is that typical or was it because there were so many fans in the stands? The far side stands were pretty empty though.

 

2. Music during the game; SK would be standing on the line of scrimmage and AC DC would be playing over the loud speaker.

 

Home field advantages I guess?

 

Not sure how many kids were wearing those t-shirts but I would say that SK owes some type of formal apology.

 

An apology.....really? What about the student on the Ryle sideline that kept turning around and using his middle finger to flip off the SK fans numerous times?

As much as I dislike Ryle, my son did tell me that several of the Ryle boys (not Elliott) were very respectful and paid a few compliments to him while going thru the line shaking hands. My son spoke very highly of #4. It would have been nice to see Simon advance to next Friday, but that would have been the end. The same goes for Ryle next Friday.

Nice to see SK fans fire away at BGP's Voice of the Neers. uk#1fan really did help Ryle this year and hurt his team. Great 4 years by SK seniors and best wishes to them.

Very dangerous situation on the sidelines. Take it from someone always close to the action, someone will get hurt.

Sk fans, please stop crying about everything you can think of. You lost, that's the bottom line. Quit saying it was the noise, or disrespect, or t-shirts. Who cares. All that matters is the 11 guys on the field for each team. You cant sit there and tell me Sk fans and players didn't do anything wrong. Its high school students what do you expect? Should there be disrespect, or do I agree with may or may not have taken place? No. But both teams were wrong in some way. Ryle won, not once. Twice they beat the powerhouse Simon Kenton. Good luck next year!!
