Covington Holy Cross 26 DeSales 14

This has to be considered at least a mild upset. 7-0 Desales at Halftime, Indian's offense must have came alive in the second half

Great job Indians..

Congrats to HC.

In the CC/HC game thread there were alot of doubters. HC proved them wrong.

Holy Cross was tough defensively when they needed to be. The Colts got their yards on the ground, but not as many as expected. I was impreseed with the HC DL and LB play. The Colts QB was sacked numerous times. It was a tale of two different halfs. HC turnovers stopped two key drives in the first half. In the second half, the HC offensive engine took off. Jerry Arlinghaus had a number of key runs. Backed up on their own 8 yard in the middle of the 4th quarter, Jerry threw an amazing bomb to Josh Japser for 78 yards. Jasper scored his second TD catch of the quarter from the 12 shortly thereafter. Built primarily for the run, it was difficult for DeSales to quickly answer with not much time left in the game. Here are some interesting numbers - Holy Cross has a 1000 yard rusher (Chad Fuller), a 1000 yard receiver (Jasper) and 2600 yard passer (Arlinghaus) for 2010. Already looking forward to HC/NCC round #2 next Friday night!

I'm thrilled for Holy Cross. This class really was doubted when they were freshman. Many said that there would be a serious dropoff after the seniors on the 09 team left. Instead, they've elevated their game and the seniors have led the way.

Wonder if Tha Moss and Pather17 will comment on this game.

They won't, they can't knock HC anymore. Great hard fought game by each team! HC just seemed to want it more in the 4th quarter they had the never say die attitude. I mean how about the poise or the offense as a whole in the 4th quarter. Desales running back #40 tried to do it his self just couldn't carry the whole team, very good player. Great game boys!

Sorry to say, but HC has no chance vs. NCC. NCC is the best 2A team in the state.

HC is playing very very well. This is anybody's game

Come on!!! NCC would have beat Desales by 35. You guys need to stop being homers and get real.

Wasn't the first NC/HC meeting this year fairly tight?
