I just got to thinking about how I felt that Raceland's season went this year and whether or not imo they were about like you thought they would do, better than expected or fell below what you expected.

Although this is not for any certain school I wil put a poll on it just to see how we judged our teams performance so far this season this season.

The Rocks are better than I thought they would be. I didn't expect a team this young to play this well no matter the talent level.

Honestly I feel Raceland has done about how they should have as far as wins and losses. This Raceland team was very young, loaded with freshmen and sophomores. Exectations are always high at Raceland, that never changes.

I do feel at times the Rams could have/should have played better but all fans imo do that to some extent. Raceland has beaten the teams they should have and that I expected them to and lost to the teams that were better. Way too many turnovers at LCA or the outcome may have been different. Fairview took advantage of early mistakes with turnovers and on special teams to jump to a quick 3td lead. Raceland started to play much better in the 2nd half coming back and Fairview, like very good teams will do, made adjustments and took the game back over before the Rams could get close.

This sason is not over yet for the Rams, have beaten Campbellsville in the 1st round playoff and will be back to Lexington for a rematch with LCA this Friday.

Oldrambler, I'm a little more critical of our team. For the most part, I think Raceland played as expected, but there were two games that I was really disappointed in. LCA and Fairview. We didn't play a first quarter in either game and that basically cost us both games. And we allowed too many turnovers in both games. We give LCA a 17 point lead before we started playing, and that cost us the game losing by 12. We played really well after the first quarter. The same goes for the Fairview game, we let them get up on us by 21 in the first quarter, then started playing and came back to make it a good game, but could not overcome that 21 point lead. The rest of the games: we beat who we should have beaten, and lost to who we should have lost to. But, those two game were well below average in my mind.

I will certainly take your word for it. I was confined to listening to the games on radio and was not there to actually see the game to get a feel for it. Especially the Fairview game, one announcer although a homer (as he should have been, no problem with that) was doing a pretty decent play by play. The other (commentator) was more of a cheerleader (and was way too loud and obnoxious ) by yelling, interrupting the other guy to where it was hard to uderstand what he (play by play) was saying and trying to describe.

Doesn't matter though, I did talk to you and a couple of others that know football and got a better feel for it. Bottom line was that we needed to play a much better, no turnovers game against a good Fairview team and didn't.

Agree 100%. I thought they were a year away from real title consideration. This team has overachieved no matter what happens from here on. It sure helps to have the best coaching staff, facilities, school administration, and fan support. GO ROCKS.

With the loss of all time leading passer Ryan Moses, all state reciever Dusty Brown, and several other seniors, I expected Williamsburg to have an off year. Yet Coach Herron and his staff got these kids to believe and pulled off their 3rd district title in the past 4 years. The senior class of Root, Perkins, Thomas, Payne, Brown, Martin, and Lowrie has been a delight to watch. This team battles and has improved so much from the start of the season.

The Colonels (Park Hills version) have been performing about where I expected them to thus far. There were a couple of games that I expected to see slightly different results from - I figured they'd beat Beechwood by a little more than they did, I figured they would beat New Cath, and I figured the loss to Ryle would have been a little less lopsided - but regardless, they haven't finished up yet, so I think I'll wait to pass judgment until their season has completely run its course.

Mason County's regular season went about as expected. I saw three potential stumbling blocks - away games at Danville, Rowan County and Russell. Royals went 2-1 in those contests.

As I've said before, some folks have told me that they REALLY wished they could have come away from Danville with a win in the opener. And I've also said before, while another 10-0 regular season would have been nice; I think the loss was the best thing that could have happened to Danville and Mason County.

I thought we would possibly finish at 7-3, so 8-2 makes it better than expected.

Trinity has exceeded my expectations.

I thought the Birds would be about right where they are at. I knew that Ryle had a ton back and HHS would have a ton of new starters. Playing Ryle twice scared me because they would be very good and could quite possibly beat them and they did....GO BIRDS!! 20n10..

Not what was expected, but fortunately still playing playoff football.

To be honest with the death of Mykal Barnes, I didn't know how we would do. We won some games I didn't think we would, and lost some I thought we would win. We finished 2nd in the district behind Henry Clay and pre-season was picked to finish 3rd. We lost our last two games to Campbell Co. First in two OT's and last one by 1 point. Tuff way to end your season.
