Rematch with Henry Clay I believe....3 point game in the first one I believe. I guess SK will likely need those 12 players and touchdowns too...How many of those 12 are starters? Guessing, not many.

Not really if SK would have scored touchdowns instead of playing it safe kicking field goals this game would have been a blow out.

 

Um, wasn't one TD a result of a snap over the TC punter's head? Doesn't sound like it had any chance to be a blowout at any time.

 

It's a win but certainly not how you want to start a playoff run.

SK really shot themselves in the foot ALOT tonight. SK was inside the 10 yard line 4 different times and had to settle with field goal attempts. The running game was working well in the open field but once they got down inside the goal line they just couldn't get any push up front. I was surprised by a couple of calls, they still resulted in points but I thought for sure on 4th and 1 from the 6 yards out SK was going to go for it, but then again the lack of surge from the offensive line may have been the reason for that as well. TC also had some mistakes that SK was able to capatalize on, including a kick off return by TC that bounced off a forward players chest and went about 20 yards in to SK's direction, the SK players actually had to turn around and run backwards to field the ball. The defense gave up some yards but were able to really pull it together in the 4th quarter. SK had back to back sacks on TC's second to last drive and forced TC into a 4th and forever situation with about 5 minutes left in the game. TC had no choice but to punt the ball, unfortunately for them it was a bad snap that the punter couldn't field, and SK was able to scoop and score for the TD and 10 point lead. That was prety much the ball game at that point.

 

I'd say all in all SK's offense moved the ball well, but their lack of TD's in the red zone is worrisome. The game was a let down considering how well they've been playing over the past few weeks, hopefully it was just the cold weather and next week this team will pick back up where they were a few weeks ago.

I'd say all in all SK's offense moved the ball well, but their lack of TD's in the red zone is worrisome. The game was a let down considering how well they've been playing over the past few weeks, hopefully it was just the cold weather and next week this team will pick back up where they were a few weeks ago.

SK was fortunate tonight. With a 16-13 lead early in the fourth quarter Jones went 67 yards for an apparent score but a block in the back nullified the score. SK held but had to punt. TC then lost nine yards on a third and six pass, forcing the punt that sailed over their punter's head. Tates Creek opened the 2nd half with an on side kick and proceeded to score, then almost pulled it off again. SK won because of their special teams and defense tonight, they really dodged a bullet.

If not for a couple bad calls SK would be out of the playoffs right now. The TD that was called back for TC was just wrong. The kid was in the endzone when the ref through the flag back at the 45 yard line. If it'ts a block in the back, throw the flag when it happens and not wait until the play is over. The on side kick they recovered? Not sure what the call was but I was sitting on the 50 yard line and the kicker did not touch the ball until it crossed the 50. Still not sure about that one but I'm sure SK is lucky to move on to next week. They will have to play alot better next week if they want to get by Henry Clay.

We always stand on the visiting teams side on the fence during home games. Tonight's game made me really nervous about next weeks.

Wrong on that play, the ref's got it right, SK got the ball at the 49 because TC touched the ball before it went 10 yards/past the 50 yard line.
