Ryle is voted the best team at this time this season. Highlands is the best football PROGRAM in this part of the state. And, Ryle's program is ahead of SK's based on head to head play vs. SK over the past 10 years. Not my thoughts, just fact. Look at the scoreboard, my friend. Neither program is at Highlands level based on playing results. Both SK and Ryle are striving to get to that level. Ryle is just going about it in a little different manner and they are certainly not afraid to schedule the Birds. If Ryle played Scott in the season finale, the Raiders would be ranked #2 right now. That's a fact.

Ryle Deserves #1 ranking at this point. I'm sure HHS and Ryle know that game was tough and could have gone the other way. Hopefully both teams learn a lot about themselves. HHS knows they better stay focused or # 20 is gone and that would haunt with them a long time. Good teams, such as Ryle, don't just 'laydown' because Highlands walks on the field.

I hope Ryle now has complete confidence that with the same tenacious/tough play they can win in out and bring the 6A title home to NKY.

Good for Ryle. They deserve to be there.

Coach Warner has the program heading in the right direction that is for sure. Hard work and stepping up to play the top programs is how you learn. Good luck in the playoffs.

My question is who is going to remember this poll on Dec 4th? Seriously, because by that time you will likely see Highlands crowned as the 5A champs and they will bring the hardware back to the Fort and there will likely be no other NKY team that can say they did the same. I hope we can get Beechwood, NCC and Ryle to win a state championship but I think it will be much tougher for those teams.

 

IMO if Ryle wins a state championship in 6A then there is no question they are the #1 team in NKY at that point in time.

The only thing they earned was a bunch of lucky wins all season.

That's who should be atop the season ending poll imo. This formula is used as a tie breaker by the KHSAA, why not in this case?

I see what you're saying but this is simply a Coaches poll, no formula needed. I think it worked out the way it should given the circumstances.

I don't think it's neccessary as there's not a whole lot of debate that Ryle deserves number 1. That might be interesting for 3-10 although it might not be that good an indicator who is best at this point of the season.
