Just like last week he did a pretty good job in the first half but wasn't very good in the 2nd. Fatigue might be part of it.

Absolutely no pass rush. I would guess that the Dolphins threw 85% of their passes to whoever Morgan Trent was attempting to cover. It worked pretty well.

 

Both TE's (Fasano & Gresham) dropped easy passes.

 

Keith Rivers was dry heaving on the sideline in the 3rd, maybe 4th quarter.

 

TO was talking about how the sun was going to be in the WR's eyes in the 2nd quarter. The following drive, the Bengals threw 3 long passes in a row, right into the sun. All 3 fell incomplete.

 

TO had a few balls that I thought he should have caught. Chad stinks. Benson is frustrated & you can see it in his face. He's completely disinterested in everything going on.

 

This team is going to quit, if it hasn't already. Marvin is done, and I hope he's gone before next season. I realize he's not entirely to blame, but there are just too many simple mistakes being made on a regular basis.

 

On a positive note, we did not have any 12 men in the huddle penalties this week!!!!!!!

There is really not much to say. They are just not a very good football "team". They have the talent to be, however they just are not a "team" from the top down. This off season there needs to be a lot of changes, and I hope not a single coach is back next season. I would also let Chad go, because I think he has an option for next season that we can choose to pick up or not. I would choose not to pick it up. Geathers, Odom, also would be guys I would let go if possible and also Dhani Jones. I didn't say QB because that is the hardest position to replace. However I wouldn't be against brining in a solid backup. They just need a complete fresh start as a team. Some new players, and just new ideas for these guys. For a guy like Palmer, he has had the same QB coach and OC since he has been in the league. Getting someone new with new ideas, could be something that is good for Palmer. This whole team just needs something new.

 

I am sure the Bengals will blow it and promote Zimmer, and since he is good friends with Bob the Brat he probably will keep him. So not much will change. However here is hoping for a complete change this off season.

Bengals are 11-21 in October under MArvin. This is the 3rd time in Marvin's 8 seasons that the Bengals have started 2-5 (or worse).

 

Today's game sealed the deal on the 12th time in 43 seasons that the Bengals have gone winless in October.

On a side note, while walking to the game I saw a few good Holloween costumes. One guy was dressed up as the Ultimate Warrior and his friends were the Road Warriors. The Warrior was hilarious, only wearing his boots and a light blue banana hammock Prior to entering the stadium people were cheering him on, while doing so, he runs up this grassy hill outside of the stadium and grabs the portable metal fence and starts shaking it. I also saw a guy who was a dead ringer for the character Alan, from the Hangover, he had the baby strapped to the front of his chest.

I like Dunlap & Johnson as our best DE's. They can at least use their speed and disrupt some things.

As Chad Henne took one final knee this afternoon at Paul Brown Stadium, I didn't boo, didn't throw anything on the field, didn't start screaming obscenities.

 

As the players exchanged complicated handshake hugs and made plans to connect somewhere down the road, I didn't express anger. I didn't throw a temper tantrum. I didn't punch my seat.

 

As Carson Palmer jogged off the field after having thrown another game-clinching interception, I didn't yell at him. As the defensive players who spent the day not coming close to touching the opposing passer headed to the locker room, I didn't express any frustration toward them. As Marvin Lewis made his way toward his postgame responsibilities, I didn't even think about yet again his team looked like it was playing with a contagious hangover. I didn't feel the need to go over my disgust with more end of half clock wizardry or the lack of urgency as my men drove for a potential game-tying score.

 

As a winless October came to a close, I didn't feel the need to rehash the wrong routes being run, or more incompletions being thrown, or the six play/98 yard death march to a fourth straight loss allowed by a vastly overrated defense.

 

I didn't get mad, I didn't get angry, didn't feel like throwing anything, didn't fight off the urge to jump off the upper deck, I didn't do anything other than shrug my shoulders and calmly ask my wife if she wanted to go get a bowl of chili.

 

The only thing worse than feeling pain is feeling numb. The only thing worse than worse than anger is apathy.

 

The overdue realizations that these guys just really aren't that good, that there will be no playoff appearance this year, and that the expectations we had for the Bengals were insanely too high brings about the absolute worst set of emotions any sports fan can feel....

 

After 2-5, after 22-14, and after seven games into the most disappointing season in the history of Cincinnati pro sports, I feel nothing other than apathetic numbness.

I've said all along they have no foundation and will never win it all the way they are trying to build it. I got beat down on here for it. They are trying to take the cheap route with sketchy individual players. You reap what you sew! Today they got beat by a better team.

I get the Raiders being 4-4. The bigger story is that St. Louis is 4-4 and the Bucs are 5-2

The problem with this team is there is no accountability. There is no threat from the boss of losing your job for not performing, or for making bad decisions (the coaching staff).

What key player in the NFL loses his job in the middle of a season? Maybe there are 5 a year ... in the entire league? I think you are on the right track but it isn't about fear of losing your job. That only happens as a player gets to the end of a contract. It is about finding players with pride who will play their rears off every single play. Who on the Bengals team does that?
