January 2, 201115 yr Yet they still could have won and would have had they made a chip shot FG in the first half IMO. The TO that cost them the most wasn't Plamer either it was the Simpson fumble. You haven't chimed in yet on who the better QB on the field was. Neither has mali. I think I know the reason. Flacco was the better QB today. His team won and also won the turnover battle. End of story since neither QB lit it up.
January 2, 201115 yr Look you two need to get a clue. Seriously. Even when people say he played bad or isn't as good as they thought you all act like people are calling him great. Nobody is yet you two continue to act like that is the case. If he's not great, then what is he? You obviously don't think his play is an issue, if you lay blame at foot of some kicker they had to go get off the street.

January 2, 201115 yr I think about 95% of the people would take Flacco over Palmer right now. Seems like all of that 5% is on this board.

I've stated many times that his play is an issue and has been an issue. They did win the Division just last year though right? I think he is a problem that needs looked at but Cam Newton or Locker aren't the answer either. If they get some O-Line help and go back to running to set up the pass I think they are very capable of winning the division next year with CP. I don't think Carson and Marvin have what it takes to make a Super Bowl run though. Bad throws and poor decisions are magnified in January.
January 2, 201115 yr Seems like all of that 5% is on this board. I would take Flacco over CP for the future and because he's younger. I don't think he's currently better though. I really don't think he's that good. If he is better now (I could live with that) he isn't a lot better. It is nice to have a Defense led by Lewis, Suggs, and Reed though. Flacco doesn't usually have to win games which is good for them because I'm not sure he's capable of that.

If you don't have a QB or Coach capable of getting you there, don't you think they need to go? The Bengals are a long way from being a SB contender which is why I think they need to restart.

I kind of agree with what you say. But each year you get into this it's harder for Palmer. He hasn't shown any improvement since 06. He will be declining, so at a point they can't even hope to catch a "lucky" season with him at the helm. And really I believe that decline is setting in. And declining from where he has been the past couple of season is not a good thing.

The chances of Newton or Locker being better than Palmer next year are about 5%. I don't think they will hire the right coach to get them to title contenders but I think Palmer and the right coach can win the division next year and if they have the right coach and he can convince Palmer not to force things who knows.

January 2, 201115 yr Next year isn't what I'm worried about. That's fine too and I get that, but I really think Newton will never be good and I doubt Locker will. It probably doesn't matter because I don't think Brown will take one of those two.

Since the failure rate is so high for qbs in the NFL and success rare.
January 3, 201115 yr I think on the last play of the game Palmer thought it was 3rd down and threw the ball away just shows he is not that smart.
