Just to be honest, I think you might want to lose this game. Stick with me. If you lose and finish third, you will open up on the road at Montgomery County; if you win you get Ashland at home. Even though Montgomery beat Ashland, most would likely still consider the Tomcats the better team.

 

If you finish third and win your first playoff game, you get to go to Highlands. If you finish second and win your first playoff game, you get to go to Johnson Central. I'm guessing you likely lose either place, so why not lose close to home?

I don't know what years you watched but since they started having a bye during the season (2002) Dixie is 7 and 1 coming out of a bye week. The one loss was last year, and that bye week was quite different than most teams bye week.

You are correct. However I did not state in my post that they lost those game. I just know more often than not they came out rather flat and it took most of the first half to get anything going.

Wins and loses are obviously just a formality for the Red Colonels. I'm with you on the flatness. I'll take the Blueboys in this one.

After watching both play the Birds this will be a tough one to pick under the circumstances. Birds cruised at Dixie. CovCath comes into Ft Thomas and rocks the boat. My initial concern would be that the Blueboys have a emotional letdown after playing their game of the yr last wk against Highlands. Never could understand how this type of stuff happens, but it does, and when it does their is very little if anything a team can do about it especially if it appears to be raring its ugly head. CovCath does have the advantage of playin this one at home but even with that, I am going with Dixie in this one barring any unforeseen personnel changes. Coach Spritzkys yr to say Dixie Hwy runs thru Crestview Hills not Park Hills. LOL.

Last week was first game of the year that CovCath was any where close to being health on the defensive side of the ball.

Barring a let down, CovCath is better on the defensive side of the ball.

Could be other shoot out, and who does not turn the ball over.

Defensively this week will be the healthiest that CovCath has been all year. Two starters/major contributors did not play in the Highlands game, who will be back this week. This game has always been the must win game. Even had CovCath beaten Highlands this is the game they had to win to be better than the 3 seed. Had they beat Highlands and lost to Dixie they would have ended up a 3 seed. If they win this week they will secure a 2 seed.

 

I expect a high scoring afair just like the last 2 meetings. However, I also predicted that Conner vs Campbell would be a shoot out as well. So if I am as accurate on this game it will end up being a 17 -14 type of game.

I have too much time and did some research and as I thought Dixie is actually pretty strong out of a bye. They are 7-1 had the lead at halftime in everygame, and played some quality opponents. CovCath 4 times, Conner 3 times, Lloyd 1 time. The only year the halftime score looks like they were flat is 2007 but that team played flat often, they lost to Holmes because of it.

2) Can Dixie limit or elminate their turnovers?

3) Where will the cameramen be positioned this year?

Personally, I think the majority of the game will be decided by the answer to question #1. All very good questions though.
