The scary thing is, Holmes starts 14 underclassmen this year, one of which is a freshman. Jon Scruggs and Peterson are going to be a lot of fun to watch over the next few years along with Jamonte Wilson who also sees a lot of time as a freshman.

Cohorn never covered Peterson. Bobby had more yards and most imortantly scored 2TD's and his team won so how can you say Peterson got the best of him . They didn't complete a long pass to Peterson all night. When they tried Leonard knocked it down or intercepted it. Peterson is a great player, but don't make it sound like he ran by Leonard at will . He caught Hitches and got yards after the catch.

 

Not sure what you consider a long pass but Peterson had several catches that were 15 yards down the field.

 

They only attempted 3 or 4 passes that were 20 or more yards down field. Once on the sideline that he caught but was ruled out of bounds. One in the front corner of the end zone that was deflected with 2 defenders all over him. The other was the jumpball that Leonard intercepted. And the last one was one down the home sideline that was overthrown when Holmes was driving toward the south endzone.

It either happened or didn't and the score was 47-20. I would say Holmes is a good team I would compare them to a Conner.

This has nothing to do with the game but I spent some time at Dixie yesterday for another event and all I could say is wow. Been to the baseball field a ton but first time at the football stadium. Beautiful place and not a piece of trash anywhere - and that's a day after a football game was held there. The people there should be really proud. Well done. This from a "blue" colonel.

Yes, I watched both teams play Dixie and I am not sure they are better by a lot. They may be better but I think Conner would give them a game. I know comparing scores is useless but they have 2 common opponents and the scores are similar.

It was 26-20 Dixie in the fourth when Coach Lickert called a fake punt and did not get the first down. After this play and Dixie having a short field they capitalized and Holmes seemed to just bow out.

Rumors do not benefit anyone. I'm certain that Coach Lickert is only thinking about winning games in the regular season and the play offs with the Holmes Bulldogs.

It's my recollection as well as Walter's recap (post #12) that had Dixie up 33-20 after 3 quarters. The Enquirer is not correct IMO if you're basing it on that....regardless you have to play 4 quarters and Dixie dominated the fourth and final quarter.
