Cueto retires a batter without throwing a pitch

My baseball posts tend to dwindle this time of the year ... kind of like the Reds' fans on here most of the last several years.

I always watch and post right till the end.

I didn't single out anyone ... as a group, though, the action certainly winds down when football starts.

At least until this year.

I know it does, and I'm just giving you a hard time. You have to admit though, it hasn't been as much fun for you this year.

Watching Dusty Baker win the division ... yeah, loads of fun.

My guess it had much more to do with that 231 career average or the .196 he was hitting this year.

I've always respected LaRue as a catcher. Not much of a bat but he was good defensively and he always showed up to play.

I don't buy the "don't come out of the dugout if you dont' want to get kicked" mentality. At some point the Cards are going to exact revenge on Cueto and it will be deserved. Kicking is simply unacceptable in a baseball fight.

What is acceptable in a fight?

20 concussions? He better be hitting up Romanowski's vitamin lab, he's going to have some trouble down the road if this is true.

Were Johnny Roseboro's actions acceptable?

Regardless of what's acceptable and what's not, he got kicked in a fight of about 50 people, get over it.

I have no idea who that is.

Why do I suspect that if it had been CCarpenter doing the kicking and Ramon Hernandez' gord receiving the kicks that our "get over it" posts would not be on here? Kicking crosses the line. What if a Card had thrown a baseball at close range at a Red? Get over it?

The guy with the bat, I think.

Google it. It's one of the most famous fight incidents in baseball history.

Throwing a baseball is much different then pinning someone on the fence and them kicking in retaliation, and it's not even debatable. Would I complain about someone kicking our players? Of course. A month and a half later? No chance.
