tog,

This CCH team has come a long way, hats off to the Colonels and Coach Wirth.

The playoffs will be interesting and I wonder if they will have a consistent showing in the postseason.

Here's hoping for an upset of JC in Paintsville and a return trip to Ft. Thomas in round 3.

They lost to NCC, beat Scott, lost to Highlands by 7, and beat Dixie by 7.

Seems like the same Colonels to me.

If they are respectable vs. St. X and beat JC, then they deserve some credit.

Be careful what you wish for....

I've stated before, Cov Cath is a team that generally, for better or worse, improves to their full potential over the course of a season instead of starting off the season firing on all cylinders. They're a somewhat younger team, with underclassmen in a lot of the "leadership" positions. I think their performance against Highlands has been the closest they've come to full potential thus far, and I would look to see them put out some great performances against Johnson Central and hopefully Highlands II.

Any Northern Kentucky HS football fan would rather have a locally based Regional Final game (& a rematch with CovCath to boot) than a 3 hour trip down the Mountain Parkway to and from Paintsville. I think you would agree Mr. Wildcat...

If CovCath could play in the first half of games like they do in the second, they would be a very scary playoff opponent.

Bitter beer face alert.

To me at least and I am certain that the coaches and players will totally disagree with me but I could care less about the St. X game as it means nothing. Sure it would be great to beat Lou St. X but it certainly wouldn't be worth it if one of our starters got hurt in that game and couldn't dress for the Ashland game!

BTW there is a team from along the Ohio River about three hours east of NKy that CovCath has to beat prior to traveling to Johnsonville to play the Eagles.

I'd rather see the best teams play; it will prepare the NKY representative for the State Final the best; I'm not sure CCH is the best team to face Highlands in the Regional Final.

Of course if they beat JC in Paintsville, they will have proven they are.

My main point is the Colonels may not want to see Highlands again; it could ruin the good feelings they have from a 7 point loss to the Birds; if they get blown out in the playoffs, they will be right back where they started when the season began-light years behind the Birds.

The way I see it, bringing a game down to the last play with Highlands proved that Cov Cath isn't any longer "light years behind the Birds".

And yes, usually when one team beats another, they have proven that they are best :D

Read the entire post and not just a part out of context...

If the Birds blow them out in the playoffs, all those good feelings about the regular season will be long gone....
