Other than Scott will CovCath win another game?

Featured Replies

The problem is your team has no chance of winning those games. Your team gets beat up and the players and parents start pointing fingers. You make it to the playoffs and get beat in the 2nd or 3rd round. Did this really help your team? I don't think so..CovCath needs to play teams they can compete with. Trying to play GCL and the Louisville Big 2 teams is a losing battle for the Blue Boys. JMO

Not saying I disagree with your statement - or that I entirely agree with it, but I seem to recall a good number of "Highlands fans" touting their "you've got to play the best to be the best" mantra here on BGP. Wouldn't that be exactly what C6H0-83 was saying?

The issue is HHS can play with those teams and right now CovCath can't..JMO

Go back and check the mighty Bluebirds record against the GCL. Highlands would finish in the bottom half of that league 9 out of 10 years.

I said play with..If you honestly think getting your head beat in when you play those teams is good..Keep doing it. I don't care one way or the other..

Got ya. I just like teams playing very good competition. Does CCH overschedule-yes. Beats the opposite approach, like what Conner does IMO.

I think the only reason why a team should "schedule up" is in order to improve your team so that when it comes playoff time your team is in a good position to do well. I don't think there's anything great to be said about playing a difficult schedule just for its own sake... the difficult schedule has to be a means to an end (playoff success). I can't really see much evidence that CCH's recent brutal schedule has paid many dividends. CCH does play quite a schedule, though!

I think that would change that mantra to "you've got to play the best to be the best, unless you can't play with those teams, in which case, you just try to play teams you can beat" then, correct?

Now that's funny right there!

True..

CCH's schedule is difficult to be sure but that is not the cause of their .500 seasons. The only way they are really stretching themselves schedule wise IMO is by playing a GCL team. Replace the GCL team with a good 4A-6A level Kentucky team and the schedule is challenging but not overly so. Playing a GCL team plus a St. X. is too much at this time.

You're right! Your team does do that. Didn't they go undefated a few years ago not only to loose in the opening round of the playoffs?

Sorry I think History just jacked the thread. I was just following along.

BTT

I think CCH has a chance against Dixie to get their next win.

Not my team, but the answer is yes, and the proper spelling is lose. :D

Oh, sorry, but I thought only MODERATORS could correct errors.

I believe Coach Wirth and his young men answered your question Guru, not on BGP's of course but with their play on the gridiron over the last two weeks! Just missed coming from behind in the last couple of seconds to beat Highlands at HHS and beating Dixie in the last minute at home after many thought they wouldn't win another game this season other than the Scott game.

Guru, will you admit you were wrong about this CovCath team? :idunno:
