Let's not all jump to conclusions. First of all Lee Todd isn't quitting he is retiring. Good grief the man is 65 years old. This is a thread full of wild speculation.

That's only been said about 2000 times. You get an "F" for origionality. Can't we come up with something better than that.

So encourage schools to intentionally try and cheat and just hope they don't get caught then? Because that's what your answer would lead to.

Not really punishment now exists if they try and hide things and are caught. Under sportsfans system there would be no punishment for it just better hope we catch you next time.

Well, it's happened (vacating seasons) twice now with Cal's teams, and his first year at UK similar kinds of stuff is coming up. Memphis and UMass ain't UK, and what is tolerated at Memphis or UMass may not fly at UK. I'm just wondering what people think UK will do in the event that UK has to vacate a season under Cal.

Mr. Newman, my comments are in large part tongue in cheek. Regarding Pres. Todd, many commentators say that he is indeed quitting because of his dismay with the lack of funding coming from the General Assembly.

In both Umass and Memphis situations Calipari had nothing to do with either. The NCAA said so. I get tired of hearing the "where there's smoke there's fire" analogy. Unfortuante circumstances is more what to call it. A series of bad breaks. It happens sometimes.

Only if they are willing to suffer the consequences when it goes south IMO. I wouldn't have touched Bledsoe for any reason whatsoever! The Kanter situation is different since he hasn't played yet. If there is ANY question and they still play him....the entire organization is out of their mind.

Yes, all of this did happen at Memphis. And there is a chance Bledsoe would have ended up at UK whether Cal was there or not or he may have gone to another school and put it under the microscope. The problem is, when Cal is your coach, the microscope becomes even larger and are subject to more scrutiny. Unlike others I feel due diligence was probably done with Bledsoe, but it really does not matter. Somebody has to take the fall.
