It shows Cooper moving from 6A to 4A.

I know Highland has moved up in the past but according to their district it does not appear they would be allowed and will have to stay in 4A.

Yeah, I don't believe they would qualify for a geographical hardship like the have in the past. Having Cooper, Covington Catholic, and Holmes in their district would be a solid collection of northern Kentucky teams.

In 6A, I would switch Eastern and Trinity.

Maybe PRP and Southern as well.

That's a possibility. I actually kept District 3 just as it is right now. I'm no expert on Jefferson County school locations (although there is a helpful map on their district website) so certainly those Louisville districts could be rearranged.

gchs ... I think you need to take a look at your 2A districts, especially those around the "golden triangle". Those districts do not look good geographically and need to be re-worked.

 

Specifically, I would say the N. Ky. district will almost surely include Cov. Holy Cross, Lloyd, Newport and Newport Central Catholic. Then you need to match up Walton Verona and Brossart in that district or other districts. Gallatin, Owen, Carroll and Trimble seem to make a lot of sense in a district together. You could easily put Walton in that district and have Brossart in the N. Ky. district. I think your Eastern KY district will have to be Bath Co., Russell, Prestonsburg and Betsy Layne. Then in the south it is Middlesboro, Leslie Co., Somerset and probably Clinton Co. Central KY is LCA, Danville, Washington Co. and Bardstown. Then you will need to bring Butler Co. over to be the 4th team in the Glasgow, Green, Metcalfe district.

2A was the toughest. And again, it was only a proposal. I like those suggestions you've made. I think that would work.

Class 2A can go several different ways, geographically ... my alignment had the northern Kentucky teams together and Russell and Bath County in a district with Prestonsburg and Betsy Layne, with Shelby Valley going west to play in another district.

What about this look for 2A? I made a couple changes from suggestions. It may work better:

District 1: Ballard Memorial, Caldwell County, Crittenden County, Murray, Reidland, Union County

District 2: Hancock County, McLean County, Owensboro Catholic, Todd County Central

 

Region II

District 3: Butler County, Glasgow, Green County, Metcalfe County

District 4: Bardstown, Christian Academy-Louisville, DeSales, Fort Knox, Shawnee, Washington County

 

Region III

District 5: Carroll County, Danville, Gallatin County, Lexington Christian, Owen County, Trimble County

District 6: Bishop Brossart, Covington Holy Cross, Lloyd Memorial, Newport, Newport Central Catholic, Walton-Verona

 

Region IV

District 7: Clinton County, Leslie County, Middlesboro, Somerset

District 8: Bath County, Betsy Layne, Prestonsburg, Russell

With Shelby Valley being the 1st team to drop down, I would say Betsy Layne, Prestonsburg and Shelby Valley will be a district with either Bath/Leslie/Russell. In my opinion.

I thought Bishop Brossart was going to be in 1A still? Walton is probably a better fit in District 5 that is shown. That would be similar to what they play in for other sports.

To my Garrard County friend great job and a lot of hard work! The only difference I would make would be this. In 5-A I would move Montgomery County and Madison Southern to District 6 and move East & West to District 7 only because they are in the region for other sports right now. In 4-A I would keep Russell County in District 2 and move Lex. Cath to D-4 to keep them in Boyle's district. In 4-A district 7 could be a lot of fun. In 2-A I'd move Somerset to District 4. Only to have them in the same district with Danville.

 

I would love to see Madison Southern in this district. Playing Bell Co., Knox Central, Rockcastle is a beast, I think this district would level the playing field out and make that a pretty wide open district with Pulaski or Montgomery being the favorites. Good work gchs!
