What I saw seemed to be a sincere attempt to bridge divisions and unite a great people. Beck went out of his way to avoid specific political issues and personalities. Some may feel it was over the top to have over 200 clergy from all denominations and races standing behind him, but at the very least... someone is actually trying to pull the team back together with common threads and move the ball down the field. I'm not an official Beck apologist... I simply thought it represented a solid move in the right direction. I personally hope the momentum continues to build. :thumb:

They were viewed by the British as instigators of the American Revolution for preaching "individual" accountability to Jesus Christ rather than "collective" responsibility to the King. I'm aware of those from back then. I'm asking who he's talking about when he says they're back today.

He also, on his website, said that Tea Partiers are "old, white, and angry. From their t-shirts and their flags, it’s clear they all hate government. From their white hair, it’s clear they’re also all on Medicare and Social Security." :lol:

Mr. Press is simply babbling his particular beliefs in total disregard of actual facts. Anyone that has ever actually stepped inside the Lincoln Memorial will find the Gettysburg Address inscribed on one end and Lincoln's Second Inaugural Address on the other. These are not tiny inscriptions, but large writings filling the height of each wall. Both directly reference God. The Second Inaugural Address could pass as a sermon for its direct Biblical quotes and Judeo-Christian teachings. This from one of the undisputed greatest presidents of all time to the people of his nation in an official "government" speech. When Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his "Dream" at that location 47 years ago, he did not conceal his Biblical roots or message. Press is an example of how the media elites simply do not get it.

Second, if it needed to be restored Glen Beck is one of the last people I'd pick for the job. Third, sitting in the corner poking myself in the eye is better than watching Beck. Agree. Agree. Agree.

I submit that your problem is not with Beck himself: Equal justice under the law Judge a man by the content of his character not the color of his skin Now is the time to turn to God Now is the time to ask and beg for His forgiveness Now is the time to ask for His help We each need a personal relationship with God. We must know God exists We must learn to trust God when times are bad In so doing, we may have the confidence that things will get better

I have seen the news reports on the rally and most of the reports of the rally itself have been favorable. I would agree with that. Now if he carries that message onto his radio and TV shows maybe I'll pay a little attention to what he has to say. I have seen his show on Fox a few times. I bought a ticket to one of his theatre broadcasts once. He is a hate spewing shock jock. The problem with shocking people for a living is that you have to keep escalating or they will stop being shocked. He has escalated to the point that I no longer wish to hear from him. All things can be forgiven, but repentance is required. I'll think about listening to him and his message when I see some sign of his repentance.
