Wow, I did not realize the coaches threw 3 interceptions and fumbled the ball. Maybe that was more of the reason they lost than coaching.

There's a certain level of preparation that comes with the game of football, as most of you know. I just think with the facilities and probably the best athletes in NKY to work with that the expectations arent being met...IMO. Every year Dixie is picked to do fairly well but it never seems to pan out. I dont know maybe I expect more.

Don't know if I would agree 100% with the bolded. I realize that coaching goes a long way but Highlands has some pretty darn good athletes.

As a past Dixie supporter, it is very frustrating to have high expectations met with mediocore results. Especially after groups of kids do so well as middle schoolers, freshmen and JV. What the heck happens when they get to the varsity level at Dixie? I can tell you that my son was frustrated a lot his last couple of varsity years. The coaches at Dixie are generally good well-respected men. The head coach is a Highlands man for gosh sakes. It just makes me wonder what a different staff could have done with some of the talent that got wasted at Dixie.

First of all, I need for you to explain the correlation between nice facilities and winning programs, imo there is none. I think the trend of turf fields is more the result of a multi-use facility than a winning program. Secondly, I think you might want to take off your Dixie "blinders" and become a little more realistic with your expectations of this program. I am miffed at all of the finger pointing and grumbling after only one game. I can only imagine the talk in the bleachers, wow.

I believe for Dixie to be successful they need to only play Pike on key defensive plays and save him for QB.He can't go both ways an entire game. I think Dixie was missing one of their key receivers tonight, Goose Cohorn.

How much does that affect Dixie? Where is Goose in the grand scheme of "key cogs" for Dixie?

I know there are many coaches that would die for Dixie's setup. Secondly its not just one game. These expectations and goals for Dixie have been elevated for years, and it seems like it never comes to fruition. Looks like from the posts, others feel the same way.

I bet you could ask Coach Mueller about this and he would agree. Highlands has the athletes because they have bought in to the program and live and die football. Every kids growing up wants to do it. Dixie's raw talent is very impressive, just doesn't get put to good use.

I wouldn't be so quick to judge Dixie at this point. NCC played a good game and their secondary is much improved. (tackling drills may be in order for them this week) Dixie has some realy good athletes, and should put it all together soon.

First Dixie's feeder programs, which is a very large area to choose from has always been successful. Second, I guess the media that does projections is wrong is saying that this should be the year for the Colonels for the last several years. I guess I just expect more from them. It seems like I'm not alone.
