Track the Reds (2nd Half, Week 6)

At some point Jocketty is going to have to make a decision that will make some question his loyalty. Keep a guy out that has been here and been a workhorse for so many awful years? Or, get rid of someone that has helped you in this run to the playoffs?

Not an easy decision. Good news is they have no reason to rush Harang back. Spring training 2011 would be okay.

I guess stubbs and Heisey are the only OF'ers with options.

If Harang pitches again it will be when the rosters are expanded. I'd bet once Cabrera comes back they will send down a pitcher and work a pitcher short from that time until the time the the rosters expand.

Harang will not be with the reds during Spring Training 2011

I think Walt is not looking forward to that decision.

With Cabrera an OF would have to go as they are already short on infielders.

My guess is they hope Harang isn't ready to come back.

I agree, when Cabrera comes back, one of the OF, most likely Heisey IMO, will be sent down. I do wonder if they'll try to put him on a rehab stint to try to get them to September 1st, so they don't have to activate him until then, and can keep Heisey and Cabrera available for the playoffs.

With Harang, I think that's when we see Leake hit the DL....JMO.

Right. I should've qualified that with someone else's spring training.

I don't think Isringhausen will be in the big leagues at all this year. He has struggled in AAA thus far. Chapman will be up September 1. There is 1 more spot available.

Moving Leake to the bullpen has hopefully ruined any chance of him going on the DL.

He was awful in AAA, I don't see any need for him up here.

Colin Cowherd calling the Reds a bunch of frauds on his show this morning.:eyeonyou:

I don't see how they send down an outfielder. They have avoided doing so, so far. If they have avoided this long then why would they do so right before rosters expand. I bet they are glad they are getting these roster problems right now instead of a month ago. Roster expansion is right around the corner. They will figure something out to hold things off until then. More than likely all the OF will stay IMO. I was pushing for Stubbs to be sent down a few weeks ago but that didn't happen. Just to further my point, if they didn't send him down during that horrible slump they sure won't now since he is actually hitting the ball.

How is Burton doing in AAA now? I knew he was domination 3-4 weeks ago but haven't heard anything since. If he is still doing well, then he will be a nice addition when rosters expand. I'd rather him get a shot than Isy.

What about my man, Janish? I thought he had hit a grand salome last night. Anyone been disappointed in his play since OC went down?

I almost don't want OC back lol. I thought he had the Grand Slam too, I was about asleep til I thought he yanked it.

I have my doubts about Janish doing this long term so I would like to see OC back soon.

I really like this lineup, especially Stubbs hitting in front of Votto.

Phillips 4

Stubbs 8

Votto 3

Rolen 5

Gomes 7

Hernandez 2

Bruce 9

Janish 6

Wood LHP.

Ya know, if Welsh would just grow a mustache, it'd be much more difficult to realize he has upper lip paralysis.

I guess the philosiphy is just keep running him out there and hitting him 5th?
