Pikeville-Somerset predictions

Featured Replies

Somerset will roll. Somerset 42-12

I don't see them getting 42 on Pikeville! With that said, I will take Pikeville in a very good game!

Somerset- 21

Pikeville- 28 (Score with 2:00 on the clock to take the game!)

I have a question. I went to the game last night between Pikeville-Harlan. Quarterback #7 appeared to me to be twice as good as QB#8. 7 was the QB that also sparked the comeback vs/ Paintsville, am I right? I have never seen a player with more explosive speed. I mean in all 3 levels of football, when I seen him break that run for 65 yards, it was like a blur. I think his passes look more pure and I think the team feeds off of this kid. So what is the controversy?

It was just about the opposite of this statement last week. #8 Mayo had a much better game and #7 Huffman struggled. Against Harlan Mayo was solid. but Huffman really gave the Panthers a spark with his speed. I think Coach Jackson can create some problems for Somerset with this "two headed" quarterback situation.

Well see but I thought the whole state knew that you dont underestimate Pikeville...EVER!

The whole state used to be that way with Somerset, and that will be revived as of next week.

Should be a good game...

Revenge... :fire:

I think #7 is to good of an athlete not to have on the field somewhere. They both(7 and 8) look like very good players. Not saying nothing negative about #8 at all. I guess having 2 players of that caliber is a good problem to have!

of course you do if you are a panther. However, Somerset will roll.

Naa.. Gotta pick Pikeville.

Somerset might have speed but Pikeville isnt real slow. Robinson has some great speed and Huffman does also. Good luck Pikeville it should be a great ball game.

Somerset in a close one.

Somerset should win a very good game...Jumpers are a bit better, considering all positions, and are at home.

Somerset was favored and at home two years ago also. Therefore, I'll take Pikeville.

All we're hearing is about 2 years ago. The thing is this isn't 2 years ago. I haven't seen Pikeville and they always have a solid team--however, giving up 52 points to Hazard who is not nearly as fast as Somerset throws up some red flags about their defense. I don't think Somerset will necessarily stop Pikeville either but I think the Jumpers score at will and win something to the tune of 42-28.

Do ya wanna talk about LAST year, then? :jump:

Or we could talk about 2000 when Pikeville was favored and lost. This year is all that matters and looking at scores Pikeville doesn't have the defense it has had in the past and that will be a big problem this week. It was obvious that Hazard was not nearly as good as Lynn Camp and they dusted Pikeville--these are high school kids we're talking about so scores can vary week to week but according to what Evarts scored on Paintsville and what Lynn Camp did to Hazard it looks like the defenses are a little weaker than normal in district 8. Somerset has put point on the board on everyone including Danville--Pikeville can win if they can hold the ball and keep the score in the 20's but beyond that they don't have the firepower.
