August 14, 201016 yr “Dusty had something to say, I had something to say, and the next thing you know all hell broke loose,” Carpenter said “I come home and try to explain to my son ‘Why is Scott Rolen attacking me? Why is everybody pushing you into the net?’”  I guess his son didn't ask him why he was such a jerk to his teammates Monday night.
August 14, 201016 yr Didn't get to watch most of the game tonight, but did tune into the last three innings. I missed all the hits and runs, but was glad to see the score. Hopefully we can keep this rolling now.
August 14, 201016 yr Very nice bounce back to start the series. Really need to take at least 2 of 3 now before the trip out west... :thumb::thumb: Very nice indeed.
August 14, 201016 yr Padres and Giants tied at 2 in the 3rd. A San Diego win would leave the Reds a 1/2 game back in the Wild Card.
August 14, 201016 yr Very nice win against a very good pitcher. It was good to see the Red's jump out in the first inning and set the tempo for the game for a change. Now let's take 2 more and get some mo back before we head West for what might be the make or break 9 days of the season.
August 14, 201016 yr Boo freakin hoo... IN the Belleville paper this morning, Carp took responsibility for the 2nd flare up. basically saying he came back at what Dusty said and that is the reason for the incident to get out of hand.
August 14, 201016 yr “Dusty had something to say, I had something to say, and the next thing you know all hell broke loose,” Carpenter said “I come home and try to explain to my son ‘Why is Scott Rolen attacking me? August 14, 201016 yr "He said he was scared," Carpenter said of Cueto and his kicking. "Everybody in there was scared. I couldn't move. I was in a worse position than he was and I wasn't kicking and punching or doing anything. There were all kinds of guys in there that could have come up and given all kinds of cheap shots. We could have punched him. "He's laying on the (screen) and kicking me and Flapper (LaRue). Skip (Schumaker) is standing there, Jeff Suppan's standing there. Nobody's throwing blows or punches at (Cueto). Everybody's trying to stop it. That's what was going on. He turned it into whatever he needed to turn it in to. "It was unfortunate chaos." Carpenter accepted responsibility for escalating the melee when he exchanged words with Baker prior to Cueto's kicking spree. Baker later said the situation was under control until Carpenter heightened the tension. "Dusty had something to say, I had something to say," Carpenter said. "We both said what we had to (say) and the next thing you know, all hell broke loose. "But ultimately, he wasn't throwing punches. I wasn't throwing punches. Nobody was doing anything. It was just bunch of (meaningless) talking and it turned into a melee." http://www.bnd.com/2010/08/14/1363915/carp-still-has-no-love-for-cueto.html

August 14, 201016 yr Big win last night. I was suprised they scored that much early vs Johnson. Latos throwing for SD gives them a nice shot tonight. He's really thrown well kind without a lot of pub.
August 14, 201016 yr    How is that crying? He told what happened and took responsibility for his actions.
August 14, 201016 yr How is that crying? He told what happened and took responsibility for his actions. Still talking about what Cueto did after MLB dished out the punishment. If he didn't mention Cueto then I wouldn't have a problem with it. It's over, he needs to move on and stop talking about it to the media.
